A bit about me-
ride 08 550fe .Had since new, finally last week gave it a top end rebuid even though it still ran well, started well and did not use oil or blow smoke.
This berg had done 17,640 ks(no bs).All i have replaced bar consumables are cam chain, starter clutch, clutch plate and head stem bearing (all once only).
Its been an awesome machine.
Live about 7 ks from border ranges nsw/qld border.
When we pulled motor down it was still in quite good condition.Valves were starting to wear but not badly.

cheers steve.

Giday Steve,

nice footage I lived about 4 hours south of there on top of the great divide for 20 years, I do miss threading through the big trees flat out, don't miss coming off amongst them though, I reckon full wrap bark busters saved my arse a few times

at over 17 000kms how'd the mains look?

Mains look near new.Whilst it was apart did some headwork as well.
Took it for a run in ride on sunday and one word discribes it.
"INSANE"but love it.

As for the barkbuster's don't like em.Had my wrist broken by being caught in them. The handgaurds i have now are crap really compared to the original ones on it.The original"s have smacked trees, hit hard rocks etc but never broken a lever.hen these gaurds wear out back to original"s.

cheers steve
