Fuel injector problem

Yes you can. They came with -12 and was retrofitted on unsold -11s. They fit all models.
They were black 10 microns, but when they got warm they swelled and restricted the flow. So KTM changed them out to 20 microns that are grey to get around that problem. Part number 78141013190.

Could that filter be dirty?
Seems an easier cheeper fix before a new injector.

Also, I kinda wondering on the failure rate of these injectors?
Ive got about 200 hours on my bike in mostly dusty desert conditions.
Always 91 octane fuel with ethanol.

Yes. As the injector gets dirty for sure the filter will get dirty. And logically one would need to change that small KTM filter quite frequently.

With the **** fuel we have in Sweden I use a golan 10 micron and I still notice a big difference when I clean the injector after 15 hours... But then again I believe the fuel here is much worse than most countries.

Can anyone tell me how this injector goes back together?
I put in a new injector and also took apart the inlet side of the fuel rail.

fired up the bike and gas poured out of this connection.
should there be an o-ring in there? It seems like a tight press fit

Somehow I ended up with an extra o-ring :dontknow: so thats whit I'm wondering.

my parts diagram shows no o-ring in the inlet side

so where does to go?

Also, the injector came with a metal washer, I think.
I had that extra too or it may be just a loose bit in my garage.
maybe for another bike but I somehow ended up with two of those as well.

this can't be right

seemed like a simple enough job but I seem to be buggering it up fairly well.

the orange one in bottom of the injector
in the groove...
not on the inlet

so there is two o-rings on the injector?
One on each end?
There is one in the end that is inserted into the fuel rail.
Is there another on the inlet side?
It came with a black rubber washer on that end.

thanks!

There should be one orange on the injector and one orange on #19 as on your picture. So that extra o-ring goes exactly where you have it. Put on some WD40 or similar to lubricate it as it's very easy to rip it if you squeeze it in dry.

That metal o-ring... No idea, I have no memory of ever seeing it. Maybe for another KTM model...?

To answer your last post. Yes there is one on the injector to the fuel rail side, and a black rubber washer on the other. That extra, as I wrote is for the #19.

Thanks, that makes sense.
The #19 does not seem to fit inside the press fit pieces.
I would guess that the ring is stretched on the larger of the lip and forms a seal there?

fuel was leaking out of that point when I fired it up so I think that sealing surface was my problem
