it seems that i can only get a 13 and 14T front sprocket according to my parts books for husabergs? Z12 is the spline code, 520 the chain. it's 12mm wide and the other dimensions are 3mm spline - central sprocket teeth - 3mm of spline. code is JTF -823 -13/14.
so taking advice from the doc i have tried an early husky 2-stroke 15T and it fits spot on. it has the same code as husaberg so it's spot on. the JT sprockets code is still JTF 823 - 15.
according to the books it stops there. no 16T available. so what do SM riders do for this?
i note that the Husky do a 16T front for the 510SMR and 610SMR. it is 11mm wide, suits a 520 chain and is i presume from the diagram 6mm of sprocket on one edge and 5mm of spline outside it? it will also leave 1mm of slack. is that in reality what it looks like?
it means - if you put the sprocket teeth nearer the crankcases that the chain should start missing the frame? so not only a good fit but an improvement?
so what have you all got for your 16T fronts and has anyone tried the husky 4T for better frame clearance etc? may i suggest that if anyone does try this that they use a 1mm spacer near the spacer? this will keep the spacer on the 'O' ring and therefore the oil in the engine!
