I'm on the Husaberg team now with my 2011 570 that I use for racing, fun, and commuting. I'll host a gathering like this if people want to ride amazing singletrack in the Reno/Tahoe area. I own a backcountry ski and mt bike shop in Truckee. We also do kayaking, paddleboarding, and rock climbing. So I could help people do no-moto adventures if they need a break from the amazing riding around here.
I'd suggest as soon as possible, mid week. I race on weekends into mid november. A weekend could still work in late November, but hopefully we will be skiing by then. Usually not though. Snow means great riding in the Nevada desert mountains 30 -60 minutes from here around Reno. Or call it May 2013.
I am willing to negotiate a place for everyone to stay if I have an idea of how many people, and whether it's Reno or Truckee. If people want to spend normal hotel fair I would recommend the Cedar House in Truckee. That's the most central location for all the riding if we are snow free, and the town where my business is. Cedar House is new and very nice with a great hi end restaurant, but is 1 mile from town. If we have too much snow to ride, the whole thing just moves down the hill and stages from Reno.

Day one Moonrocks/Lemon Valley, NV - 10 miles north of Reno. CAMP OUT is my preference, pitching in for a great local camp chef I know. Or stay wherever you want. By the end of the day we will see who wants what difficulty in the next day ride. Great mountain singletrack of hard sand with scattered rocks and a lot of great non-mandatory hill climbs. This shot is from the Fort Sage Mountains, an official CA OHV area with about 50 miles really beautiful wide sandy singletrack. Snow very unlikely due to lower elevation and west facing. 40 minutes north of reno.
day two Truckee - 2 or 3 rides for different difficulties. The most difficult would be a mostly rocky and beautiful singletrack tour along the Western States Route. Goes from Soda Springs Exit at Donner Summit in Truckee, to Forest Hill Divide in Auburn. Out and back, so go as far as you want. No huge hill climbs or anything impossible. Just not smoth. 10 miles of dirt roads leads to a 40 mile singletrack stretch to forest hill. So go as far as you want. Most will stop at Robinson Flat, which is 30 miles into the ride. This shot is from one of the peaks above Tahoe City.
This shot is in the Rubicon on the West Shore.
Near the sierra crest at Alpine Meadows Ski Area
Nice moderately technical short singletrack climb to Prosser Hill above Truckee, on OHV trail. Other trails in the area and kids/adult mx track all in town too.
day three - Downiville one hour north of TruckeeFor the most serious off road riders we would go do a beautiful 70 mile singletrack loop in Downiville, CA which is an hour north of here. 4000' difference between the top and bottom with many route options that occasionally have difficult creek crossings, cliff-side moments, and rock gardens. Piece of cake stuff.
My bike last week at a MRANN desert race
Here's some links to pictures I've put on my own website of riding within an hour of North Tahoe

contact me anytime regardless if you want to talk riding. I also love the Idaho idea, I go to the ketchum area to ride most every fall. But it's getting cold there soon.
