1st Place Open Amatuer, and 2nd Place Open Amatuer at Saturday and Sunday Timber Mountain Hare Scrambles. :D
Photos to follow soon...Saturday was a Muddy mess and Sunday was still muddy but clear skies.

I've been reading a lot about 08 changes and how people think the bikes are not changing and that the Bergs are falling behind as far as R&D goes...well, race wins have to tell you something...

More and More Bergs are in races now...follow D37 Magnum Expert Enduro class for the lone Husaberg entry and see how good he is doing...

Also check the points for OMRA cross country races and check out Bike Barn / Faf Co. Equipment Repair rider Nathan Pfaff and another Bike Barn Rider Jeff Turner.

The Bergs Power and their Chasis Design are AWESOME!...to get the flickability and power characteristics that these Bergs have from a CRF-X or WR would require major modifications and Dinero...Sure some upgrades are necessary, but just the fact that Huasberg can get away with small updates every year, tells me they have a good product and that they are hopefully spending more money and effort to design the rumored completely new bike slated for 09 release.

At least Husaberg has not been stating that they will have this new model years ago with a release year that still hasn't come yet...As an example, we've been told year after year that Sherco 2.5i will be released...latest news is "we dont know"

Good Job Beckman!

Are you compairing the Berg 450s to the Hondas or a 550 or 650?
You must have read my post on the power being down for the western type of ridding that we do? (450Fe)
You could not possibly be saying that the Berg 450 is faster than a modern 450 are you?
If so I would have to say that is not possible.
Good report,but please explain?

:D ABSOLUTELY the 450 BERGs are faster the 450X, especially with someone that can really ride sitting on the top. The last time I looked, we have a couple of 2007 FE450s on our floor...2007, thats pretty modern...

I'm not sure whos post I read, however, have you ridden a recent FE450e? I used to race District 37 Enduros on an 05 WR450 and can tell you, looking back, I would much prefer a Bergs power, weight and feel after 80 miles of 90 degree heat over endless sand whoops and Prospector Rock Waterfalls, In fact, I could have probably gone faster on a Berg 380...

60 + miles an hour, any bike can do with the right gearing, jetting, etc...it's what you can do and the energy you expend in the tight stuff between those fast sections that seperates 1st from 2nd.

...I need to start racing again

Well put Kurt.

Raw power is not the end all be all of a bike, how the power is delivered, gearing, handling, ergos, etc. these are things that make bikes great, and as the saying goes, it is 90% rider and 10% bike. the berg has got that 10% by the balls.
sure you can spend literally THOUSANDS and get a 450X up to play with the big boys. but the berg is there pretty much right off the showroom floor

RE: Re: Good Job Beckman!

I like your ENTHUSIASM Kurt, keep up the good work and support of your customers and racers

Do you still have the 380 Kurt or did you sell it? That engine is killer, the parts are on the way to build myself another one :) I giggle thinking about it.

There isn't any info on 08s. Berg has more prototype inovations than you can shake a stick at. Sweden has not rested, but what is produced is up to the marketers. If the advances that current Husaberg motorcycles have made are not enough for you, or your peers are pushing the bellybutton, think inside the box mentality on you, then maybe your just not happy with them. That shouldn't bother any of us. We all come here because we all enjoy riding offroad bikes, and all happen to enjoy doing it on a Husaberg. If that has changed for you, then that's too bad. The brand has come so far the last few years in NA, between the bikes reliability, performance and parts and dealers, we should all be very happy. If not, then we should find a place that is. After all, life is short.

keep well

RE: Re: Good Job Beckman!

450X are you kidding me? that useless pig is not even in the same class as my FE450e.

the only other bike worth considering is the TE450. the HP king of the E start 450s by 3 hp per dirt bike 06 test.

regarding racing, no one really races E start bikes, the young legs always ride a light 2 stroke which kick starts easy or a supped up trail modified MX kick start bike, because their balls say they need too.

face it, our E start bikes are awesome competitive machines, but they are for us old guys.

Fe 450 06 @ 06450x ?

We had the two bikes out for the day and the Honda just had an offroad pipe.
The three of us changed bikes over about 80 ot 90 miles of going back and fourth.
We all agreed the Honda was much faster and had more grunt in any gear. We all agreed the Fe 450 required much more shifting. The forks on the Honda were much smoother and all agreed. By the way the new KLR 450 is the hp king in that class as well as the Kaw 450F in moto. I have not ridden a KLR but have been on a Kaw 450F with a heavy flywheel and it will absolutely blow a Fe 450 away. The Fe 450 is a a great woods bike and would be the best in that forum. In the wide open west the 450 feels and performs much like a 400. The owner of the Berg was the first to say that it was way down on power after riding the Honda 450x.
I do not know why you guys are bringing up the Fe 450s anyway?
My post was about the FC 450s?
I guess some people are not able to read, but they can spell!

RE: Fe 450 06 @ 06450x ?

Mark, Perhaps your freind with the FE450 should contact buzzard here, he has tweaked on his jets and carb. I have ridden his 450 and wide open it will flat walk a 450X. I've ridden both as well. Let's face it right out of the box every bike needs to be tuned (including suspension) to each's personal preference. By the way I hope you get your FC450 I'd like to see one too!

I'm just comparing apples to apples, FE compared to CRF-X and WR...the FE is our only 450 this year...

Not True!

The Fe 450 is jetted fine and the Honda even had a moto pipe with great jetting.
The Honda waxed the Berg every time 0-75mph aprox. You can even pull the wheel up a gear higher on the Honda.
Each bike was runnig very good and dont believe what you are saying.
My 550 did beat each every time so that is good.
Not sure you guys have been on a good running Honda 450?
Maybe you guys rode one with the stock smoke stack on it?

The 450X has a full FMF system and I'm telling you that Buzzard's 450 will SMOKE it. This is of course at 6500 plus feet of elevation. However I guess we are giving resumes to make sure we are worthy of having an opinion I started riding 35 years ago on a Yamaha 80 Enduro and I have raced Barstow to Vegas 5 times before it was stopped. My most recent aquisition is an 89 KTM 500 MXC, which will blow away any four stroke on the planet, because everyone knows big bore two strokes rule. You just can't get one plated anymore..................

who cares? a good rider on any 250 4-stroke will absolutely crush everyone here on any honda or husaberg in any kind of race that makes sense (ok, possible exceptions for fryguy and fritz). power is for wussy men who don't know how to ride. like me. that's why i have a 550.
