FMF Ti Powercore in Blue Anodized installed on FE570

I have an Fe390 and looking for a pipe. I'm guessing this one fits mine as well. Does it matter which one (powercore, 4.1, etc) I get? I'm unsure of the different product types.

Did any of you update the computer when you swapped out the pipe? Apparently there's a new map that goes with the akra pipe....

Thanks,

CD

just get the 4.1, it comes with a quiet insert and also another insert thing to help the noise or just run it without any insert, i don't find it too loud at all. Power is great.
Aussie bikes don't need a reflash, not sure on US bikes etc

What if anything needs to be done to make the KTM can fit the Berg?
Has anyone gotten a dbA 20" test figure to verify that this unit will meet 96db or less?
Sure like that blue.
Compare/contrast to Q model? Very concerned about sound output.

Some do come with the KTM can. My '10 FE450 did. Seems to be luck of the draw. The KTM can is a freer flowing straight through design while the "Berg can has a long end cap tube and the flow has to do 2 180s before exiting. The KTM can is easy to ID, it is stamped "KTM Krizman Spark Arrestor" on the inside on the body, near the end cap.

Also shortened the end cap tube, which snugged up to the rear of the spark arrestor, about 3/4" so it is even with the angled brace visible in the first photo. The resulting sound and flow are just fine. It is louder than stock, but is by no means loud. Sounds perfect to me really. The can is heavier than an FMF Q, but I bet the flow and character of the sound is pretty close.

In summary, if my bike came with a "Husaberg can" I would proceed directly to the FMF can. On the other hand, if comes with the KTM can, mod it and save the money.

Hi!

The only thing you did was grind the front tab...? Did you need to cut the spacer that connect to the mid-pipe? or it just fit fine? I ordered the same Powercore ti blue 4 for KTM, to be install in my 2010 Husaberg FX 450.

Thanks,

Jerry

I second this opinion. This pipe is the way to go on the new 2011 570S. We do need a re-flash here in the States because the smog
rules here require this bike to be virtually emasculated to be legal. With this pipe, new data and the crap hardware removed, its
the beast it was meant to be.

I took my end cap off my 2010 FE 450 and see that it's the KTM style setup as others have noted for the 2010's. Will it do any real good to modify the inner tube that is after the sparky? Such as remove it entirely or simply cut it down? Or go to a aftermarket exhaust...akra or FMF.

I definately feel exhaust heat on the right side via the midpipe but not sure whether it's worth it to change. No problems with stalling, flame outs, etc., I've done the requisit fan, coated mid pipe, lined gas tank etc. Just bored from an injured shoulder  from the MX track.

I would go with the akra, I have one on my 10 FE570 and I love it. Gave the bike more on the bottom end and with the spark arrestor fitted (it comes with it unlike the FMF can) it is still pretty quiet but has a good tone to it. I know it is a little more $$ than the FMF but the quality is better :D

Hi,

Would this work on a 2012 FE390? If so which "KTM Model" would i need to buy? And what would be required to make it fit?

I myself would love to have the Blue FMF 4.1 on my new berg

Thanks any help would be appreciated!

I put an FMF 4.1 Ti Factory muffler on my 570 recently. The difference in weight between it and the Husaberg factory muffler was roughly two pounds. Just by starting it in the garage - without even riding it - you can immediately tell that the engine breathes much, much better with the FMF muffler. Throttle response while riding is vastly improved. I don't have a dyno in my butt, but I think the FMF 4.1 is the best $300 I've spent since I bought the Husaberg.

Alright thankyou very much for confirming the FMF 4.1 is the way to go.

If i order a KTM Model muffler, will it bolt straight onto the berg? If so which muffler would be best to get for a FE390... Would the 2011 450EXC model be the best suited?

Reason for ordering a KTM muffler is because it'll allow me to get the Anodized blue can :D

Thanks!

It looks like the mufflers on that site only have 1 pad-eye, your 390 have 2. Also that pipe that goes to the header looks different.
But then again if you look at this link: http://www.fmfracing.com/Products/BikeAsList/2011_HUSABERG_FE390 they look the same as in your link, so I guess they fit?

I do know that my FE570 muffler fit my friends KTM 250 EXC -06. I had a FE390 before my 570 and that muffler looks the same. My impression is that mufflers are quite compatible over model and brand when it comes to KTM-Husaberg.

Maybe send them an email and ask, they should know.

Yeah thats the problem i think all the images are just there for display purpose's only. I don't think they have a photo of each model. As for the header i don't plan on getting one (well not a KTM one anyway because I know there different) Just want to get a slip on for now.

As for sending an email, FMF said they haven't got a Husaberg in to test a KTM muffler's fitment, so they told me to contact my dealer... Who also doesn't know.

My mates coming around with his 2011 250EXC-F tonight so were going to swap mufflers and see, I'm guessing the 450 model muffler would be the same as the 250.

Although I'm still thinking about a Akrapovic...? What's peoples thoughts on them?

Not sure why you are making this difficult on yourself. This thread shows a blue ktm can on a berg, no problems. The KTM 4 stroke mufflers all use the same mounting pattern. As an example I replaced my stock overly restrictive muffler with one from an 09 530xcw. A friend replaced his with one from an 07 250sx. Both fit perfectly.

I'm just a bit concerned if I order it and ship it all the way from the US to Australia and it get's here and it doesn't fit. Then I'm stuck with it. Also the one pictured on this thread is a powercore 4 I believe? I'm after the 4.1 in blue. So basically your saying it doesn't matter what FMF KTM Model i order they are all the same and fit the same?
