Super Mario (Rinaldi) and Gio Sala did a test of the 2009 Husaberg FE450 in the June edition of motocrossdigital.

Get your wallet, this bike is revolutionary. Think bicycle with 50 hp! Woooohooo!!

hmmm. judging from the complicated shape of the gas tank, I's say it may be a while until we see an aftermarket high capacity tank for the new bike 8O

nice test!!!!

although at the end, they don´t give qualification I think the ride is amazing and the bike brakes many paradigms!!! I want one, but many friends of mine keep telling me that I should not go with the first year production bike, what do you think, I all ready ask for mine, should I wait?

Cheers

RE: nice test!!!!

Have also added another 09 "ride impression" to the downloads section. Appears in July ed of ADB mag and interview with Joakim Ljunggren for those interested.

I suppose that there is always some risk with first year models, however, it sounds like they have been testing the motor for a couple of years now, without what appears to be any significant problems.

I thought I read here some where that there was going to be several 09's at the ISDE this year in Greece, so we'll have to wait and see how they fair at that event. I believe member Sotosberg will be on the scene taking pic's and making a ride report for us.

For what it's worth, I'm going to be doing my best to get an 09 570.

RE: Re: nice test!!!!

G'day Brendan - Mate, the "uploads" to the "downloads" section is moderated by the admin so have to wait for him to ck its not Pr0n or something before it will appear in the section.
Rica - yep - any first year model is bound to be susceptible to teething problems, but I'm sure any issues would be picked up within the first year (ie under warranty) As my dealer said - its essentially an 08 KTM motor so its unlikely the motor will be as likely to have problems.
Dale - agree. I'll take the punt too mate. I've got my money down. Its got to be better in the tight singles with fuel injection (and hopefully a thermo fan !) then my 05 550.. ;) Even if it does sound like the exhaust heats up the seat. Only a prob for those that sit down I guess.. lol

It only took 10+ years to get the one we have for the old school bikes.... :)

At those times the seat is glazed with ice from having been transported on the trailer, the heated seat can not be seen as anything else than an ingenious feature rather than a problem. 8)

Cool!

Thanks for the props mate!

I already have plans for wrapping that header section with DEI header wrap. I have it on my 04 550 and it works great. It's amazing how much it reduces the heat coming off of the headers.

There are some interesting details in the article. Like the fact that the "generator" as they put it, is 210 watts. I wonder if it is all straight DC? Also 30-50% increase in oil capacity as well.

A catalyser in the exhaust, with a lambda probe ( wide band O2 sensor that would make it a closed loop injection system). In the original press release they said it would automatically adjust for altitude and temperature, and with the closed loop system this would make this a true reality. I couldn't see the bung or the sensor for this in any of the pic's here though.

if it has the proper coating on the inside of the tank to prevent vapor release it would easily be a green sticker bike out here in the peoples Republik of Kalifornia. And without too much more in equipment terms the bike could be street legal. It's going to boil down to funds to the govinmint to give it a pass there.

And the radiator has the plug for the thermo switch for the fan.

Good stuff!!

Hello fellas,

DaleEO, I thought the DEI header wrap when I read about the high temperatures from the exhaust pipe,I remember your recomendation!Be sure,I will do my best for the ISDE.At least I will post As much photos as I can.I never watched an enduro race like this but from a small expirience from WRC here in Greece I can say that its easier to watch a countryside race from TV or internet. The are a lot of special stages and you cant watch them all as everybody know because the are going FASTTTTTTTTT!!!With a little help from Oyk I think I can do it

I waiting for that race specially for one reason: Husaberg 2009 driven by factory riders...........scary?September getting closer and closer......

Regards sotosberg

Good stuff Kelsow,

I cant get enough reading about this new bike, it sound really awesome, and i detect a change of perceptions in other brand supporters too, Hoosaberg is back in the fight it seems!

Think I might write to Huasberg and offer to help with some 'testing' in australian conditions for them?? Ha Ha.

Azza.

I can't help but think about 17's and a slipper clutch...

What an incredible machine!
