Hi Guys,
I have a 450 Force model 04-05, the other weekend mid enduro it stopped for no reason then after a little while it started up again but then very shortly after it stopped never to go again?????????
The only thing I have done so far is to put a spare plug in the plug lead and check for a spark ---There's none!!!!!!

Any common problems I should be looking for before I have bits of Husaberg all over my garage ??????

Cheers

4techmoto, welcome to the site, on the 04 onwards the Husabergs are fitted with the Koksan ignition system a lot more reliable than the SEM system that I am constantly rewinding.
First check all the obvious connections and wiring including kill switch secondly check out the resistances on the stator.
source coil black/red red/white 15 Ohms + - 3
pulser coil red/green 100 Ohms
H.T. suppressor cap 5000 Ohms.
If all tests good then could be the cdi ignition box, but if has been intermittent I think you my find a bad connection some where, let us know what you find.

Regards

Sparks.

I agree with Sparks, make sure you check the simple things first, like the kill button.

When the first 04s came out a few riders reported similar problems, that turned out to be marginal solder joints on the stator leads.

Regards,

Joe

Ok Guys thanx for that, i'll be on it this weekend, i must admit i've just been busy so had no time to have a proper look at it.
I'll let you know my findings

I am a little frustrated as I've just changed from jap enduro bikes and i'm a little disappointed with the reliability issues that bergs have, but I'm blown away with the machine when it goes it's awesome.

Cheers

Hi guys just had a look at the Berg, thought i should start at the obvious. i found a trapped wire between the throttle cabel cover and the fuel tank. it had been flattened, so i thought that was it but under closer inspection it had just been caught and no damage done. The wire was for the ignition pulse generator/pickup coil.
So after reading a few more hints and tips I removed the stator cover and had a good look in there. i found that three wires had partialy come away from thier soldered joints. the joints looked very poor with little solder on them. When i touched the wires with a fine screwdriver they all came off completely.

After re-soldering the joints I had a spark and the engine fired up !!!!

I've not had her running for any lenght of time but I'm sure that this is the problem. When i think about it, it may be coincidence but the other week the lighting system stopped working.

As i said i've not checked everything out fully yet but it sure looks promising.

I'll keep you posted. Thanks for the help and suggestions.

Cheers

It Works !!!!!!!!!!!!!
