I know that Taffy Taffmeisters - Husaberg, KTM, Husqvarna, Gas Gas, dirt bikes - servicing, tuning, rebuilds, parts is working on some rods but he does not have them yet.

He does have the pin and bearing Taffmeisters - Husaberg, KTM, Husqvarna, Gas Gas, dirt bikes - servicing, tuning, rebuilds, parts

You can have your rod machined and sleeved and then use Taffy's new pin and bearing.

Or you can order a brand new crankshaft assembly part number H21014101 for $582.74 U.S. or 528.08 Euros.

The Euro has gained on the British pound due to recent events so some good deals can be had at Taffmeisters right now.

You could get a CRANKSHAFT CPL for 582$ - H21014101

Would not recommend reusing old stressed con-rod if you are planning to do some riding on your bike. Its gonna give sooner than later.

I'm in a need of a con-rod for 501 '00 also. Thanks for the measures!

My idea was to search for an alternative con-rod.
Haven't got to that yet but i hear Pro-X supplies the measures with they're products.
Maybe find something close enough and then do some machining on it.

Let me know if you find anything.

I spend yesterday for about 6 hours on internet searching alternative for that con rod, but it is imposible to find something like that... it like finding the holy grail :D
But i learned that these con rods were maded in Czech republic for husaberg but they dont do these anymore.
On ebay there is a Firm from DE which is repasing these con rods for 400Eu.-.
So im continue searching...
If you find any solution before me let me know.

Thanks for now a lot.

You say big end is 34mm but on your photo there's 35mm, which is correct?
Pin diameter, lenght?

I will find a close match, if you supply the correct dimentions.

the big end is 30mm and the rod centre to centre is most definetely NOT 117mm! it will be 120mm. the inside of the rod can be either 37mm or 38mm. they are ususally 38mm.

but if you find a rod that is 37mm you just need a special thin roller big end bearing.

Taffy

Thanks Taffy!
Is the small end measure correct?

Found almost a perfect match:
03.6423
ProX Con.Rod Kit KTM450SX ’03-06

S.E 20
Width 19.9
C to C 119
B.E 32

Reacquires machining on the crank sides or a custom big end pin or Taffy's pin kit, B.E sleeving and a cylinder sand down

yes the little end is 20mm. that rod is 20mm wide so you must grind 1mm off eash side and then get a stepped pin. then it is too short by 1mm.

BTW, you could get over it if you can find a rod 121-123mm tall.

Hello Troops!

I now have a small stock of these rods in stock, they are 119mm centres like the OEM items. please go to Facebook Taffmeisters to view them or just search on ebay to buy.

if outside the EU, don't buy them on ebay, get them off our webshop.

if after the very best deal;
inside the UK = BACS
outside the UK=plastic
price? ask!

I HAVE HAD THESE RODS MADE.
THEY ARE IN STOCK.

I also have rod kits now for the 2001-2005 501s too!

Jeezuz!

After searching for alternatives for the last 8 years i can tell you that there are "NO" alternatives available off the shelf or from a different machine.

You have these options.
1. Send the rod to the German company you noted to have then shrink in a new big end surface. They crack test, shot peen etc, the old rod so its pretty safe that if it gets through the process it will be o/k, however its very expensive.
2. Start ringing/e-mailing all the old Husaberg dealers that you can find looking for NOS. The last two (2) rods i got was by doing this, particularly in the USA. Start with Rick Bozarth.
3. Have Carillo make a one off. Its not that expensive in the scheme of things but it will require the crank to be re-balanced as the rods are little bigger around the small end.
4. Taffy has had them made but you have to use a special piston or a stepped big end pin from memory to get the correct piston height. Check that out with him.
