External Screw-on Oil Filter

I have an 03' fe501e and noticed there is a nice spot under the seat behind the rear shock to mount an external oil filter. My friend has a 660R Raptor which has a small screw-on oil filter. I thought the extra oil / filtering flowing through the engine would be beneficial. So if anybody knows where to find a good quality external oil filter kit or oil cooler/filter kit at a discounted price, it would be greatly appreciated !!

LOL - As you have probably ascertained by my username, I use a Mac computer !! And I worked doing Cox Internet Tech Support for nearly 4 years, took some Cisco classes etc. So I do OK on the computer. But since I have not owned a motorcycle for 22 years, I need some more practice riding I guess. The front end moves an awful lot from side to side when riding 3rd gear or higher in the wash here in the Las Vegas desert. Either that or I am in dire need of a stabilizer.

Quit riding those damned sandwashes. Those freaking things are dangerous, man...

So that is inherent riding in a wash ? Last tiime I had an experience of the front end moving too much was back in the late 70's when I had a
Kawi 750 H2 and was racing a 500 H1 and came into a slight turn at 100 plus mph when my right rear shock broke and I went into a speed wobble, and the H1 passed me, almost soiled my drawers. :)

RE: Re: RE: re: quote the post

I get speed wobbles pulling the bike off of the trailer. Sand washes could be considered my arch nemesis.

Sand washes can be a pain but they are doable. Keep your speed up, power on, sit back to help unweight the front end and let the front end float over the sand. Practice sitting forward and then scooch back on the seat. You will see how important seating position is.

Thanks, I will try practicing that technique next time out
