All, I hope u can help me with this one.

I'm looking for a straight through race exhaust for my 2004 FS650E, and cannot find anything searching on the net/e-bay??? I'd like a Titanium Akro if possible, and the only reference I can find is this (but can you see a way of buying it from this web page????)

Anyway, could anybody let me know if there is any search words, or specification details I could enter to find ANY exaust system/slip on muffler to fit my bike on the net? (do they go under KTM or something???_

Any help really appreciated, its doing my nut in.... :wall:

oh yes final p.s, the web site for that item says "Slipon Titanium Akrapovic silencer 03-04 80005079500. Muffler inserts can be removed . Mounting only with original headers possible. 25% weight reduction and more power ."

Do you guys know if I have to drill out/replace rivets to remove the muffler inserts, or is there Allan key head bolts or similar that allow these to be removed??

Thanks

You will have to drill out/replace rivets when it's time to re-pack it, yes.

If you mean to dismount the db-killer it's just one bolt that hold in inplace, and you can reach it from the outside.

Thanks Barrett, yes that’s what I meant, so there is a bolt that holds the db-killer in place, that you can undo & remove it, i.e. I can have a nice LOUD race type exhaust by undoing a bolt!! Fantastic!!!!!

Cheers buddy, I can't wait for it to arrive now.... I wondered what the small black plastic button was on the underside of the tail pipe, that must be the removal bolt protective covering, ref photo - you can see it clearly, no? http://www.husaberg.org/index.php?set_a ... _photo.php

Yeah you're right, there is a black rubber botton covering the bolt.

Good luck!

the sound diff between the Akra with the baffle in or out is quite negligable.

a mate has a fully opened up white brothers exhaust on his YZ450f, and it is obnoxiously loud, makes my de restricted akra sound like butterflies farting.

OK, I might do some further tinkering then on the new unit, I'll make a decision when I've heard it.

Either way, I have the original in pieces now, so I'll take the innards out & see what that sounds like!!!

Nah, I wouldn't say that, my akra slipon with the baffle in is *quiet*, remove it and it becomes alot more bassy and borderline liveable.
The difference is definitely big.

SGM, it could just be my akra, it was 3rd hand, and was purportedly from Adam Lees (australian H'berg team rider) race bike, i re built it earlier this year, had dents dollied out and so forth, when i got is apart, i did note the baffle had the spark arrestor removed.

also I have heard that there are 2 sizes of Db killer baffles??

Guys the Akra has landed...........Oh my god......!!!!

Started him inside the Garage, and the usual "grumpy old man with a loud raspy cough" has been replaced with a "raging, nasty, evil, window-shaking psycho!!!". It literally hurt my ears instantly, and the wife was in within a few seconds with a look that could kill (dB kill that is)....My job is done!

The dB killer takes up a considerable proportion of the exhaust bore, and once removed your simply staring down the barrel of a loud shot-gun.

I can highly recommend them, looks great too. I'll get a couple of pics & add them shortly. Want to get out and give the bike a good hammering first to check for any performance difference. Will keep you posted.

Just a slip-on that fits your standard husaberg pipes (you can get the full system as well). I think the total was approx £330

For further information & dealer locator etc go to the official Husaberg web site, the exhausts are on there under the parts section.

Thanks :)

Did you notice any difference in power?

My dealer tells me i need the full system to make good power gains.. And thats just after he precented me the price tag of £900-1000...
I think not.

Just had a blast on the bike... wow I love it, I can feel more punch mid range. Not a huge difference, but enough to notice & enjoy.

I'm made up with the exhaust, really MADE UP, I would recommend them. They sound sooo sweet with that deep base notes pumping out the back end whether its on the gas or throttling off with poping & back firing it sounds amazing!! Its added a new dimension to the riding experience thats for sure.
