A bearing shop will have most of the bearings, seals and O-rings. The counter balancer bearings are a couple of $5 bearings surface ground down 1.5mm of each side. A real PITA.
I think Taffy was selling some custom ground bearings from memory or you can get your own done if you can find someone.
The rocker bearings are an OEM part that no-one has found a cheap replacement for yet.
Originals will cost you a sh*tload.

We recomend that you use OEM/KTM main bearings due to all the resons mentioned in the tread" main bearings failed".
We have tried nearly all brands availeble on the market as well as diffrent combinations, ( ***, Timkin,SKF- swedish company by the way, Nomo ect ect ect), this is the second best sulotion regarding the main bearings, best would be the bullet proof JBS Racing main bearing but it needs alot of work.
Regarding gearbox bearings/camshaft bearings, use what you find!!
Price: with our big discount at SKF compaired with the price we pay at KTM, its cheaper at the OEM shop. But the local dealer might want to earn some money, otherwise he can not exist, they shall have milk on the table as well.

i'm in favour of supporting my local dealer/s and being loyal to them as everyone has to survive but I just wanted to know if i'm shooting myself in the foot by not asking around as i also don't get to light my cigars with $100 bills.

Prices from here were phenomenally cheaper. I haven't placed an order yet so can not comment on service. I too would much prefer to support the local guys (my Berg dealers are fantastic - Valley Force) and I do use them for 90% of things, but when it comes to such a costly exercise I just can't afford not to buy from the states. Plus I was planning on buying an 09 450 from them - but now it will depend on the total cost to rebuild the 04...

gracias, I was hoping one of the oregon guys would come well recommended. I can make an excuse to drive out there and pick it up when it's done and do some riding.

you need to fit the best ,ains you can. get yourself the bearings that thomas recomends. have the right case machined so that you have .65mm axial float. try to measure this before you split the cases. yes i know you want to get on with sdtripping it but NOW is the time.

i also have the journals lightly machined down by hand and i even relieve the crankcase mouths for the bearings to sit in. i bond them in. only then can you gaurantee some life out of the 650 motor.

Thanks for the replies lads. I have another question (a stupid one) that you might be able to help me out with. My bike was manufactured in 11/04. Does that make it an 04 or 05 models. I'm confused as most manufacturers seem to release their new models towards the end of the previous year. I've noticed there's a few differences in parts between the 04 & 05. Thanks again
 
boy you really do need help!

november '04 manufactured is an '05 model. they start producing them from september/october onwards and by the time we register them i the northern hemisphere it's normally the new year. however its not unusual to register them from november onwards as an '04 but '05 model.

Ken oath i do. This is my first Husaberg, and my other bikes have nearly always been 2 strokes. My motard (SXV) has journal mains, and this splitting the cases to get to the cylinder stuff is all new to me. So i'll apologise in advance for asking a shitload of stupid questions.

Cheers on the model info. I had suspected as much and have been buying 05 parts. When i do buy them i have been checking the fiche to see if there are any differences between the 04 & 05 stuff though
 
2002 Husaberg fe 400

Taffy I have recently baught a 2002 fe 400 got it running but there is a grinding noise when it runs since the kick start was down when it was running I cut the bike straight out noticed the kick start put it back up but the grinding is still there. Any ideas thanks
