Hello All,

I have recently purchased a used 2006 FE450 and it will need a rebuild in the not to distant future. I wanted to get an idea on the cost of the parts as it doesn’t appear to easy to get all of the parts from one source. Also is there anything you can do to wake up the engine as the power drops off early in the rev range on the 450.

well I have everything, the lot! not sure why you think you need everything though! its highly unlikely to need 'the lot'. If you rebuild using observation and measurement you should be OK? Typically they need a piston complete. possible cam chain. but its all the small stuff you'll see, that's where the skill is.

Thank you for the feedback, how much do the parts cost (seems way higher then a Honda or Yamaha? I was only going to replace all of the bearing and the piston and measure everything else. Just wanted to get an idea on prices as some parts can be ordered from Rocky mounting but many bearings have to be ordered from different suppliers (I would like to get everything from one supplier). Maybe worth just getting it sent over from the UK? (Depending on the postage cost).

I just don't want to be that bloke who goes for ride with his mates and breaks down and ruins everyone's weekend all for the sake of a small bearing. We've all had that mate who cheeped out on a part and broke down or got stuck.

I rebuilt two FE450 2006 and both times it was about $2500.00 CDN. not cheap. but put all the right stuff into the motors.
