I'm a little behind on reports on rides, mainly cause I haven't ridden as much as I'd like.....
In June we had another unofficial race in the town of Bjelovar, named "Rumeni Extreme"... in memory of one of Bjelovar's riders named Ivan Rumenjak "Rumeni" who passed away while riding....
Result: DNF, technical problem for rider (me).
Lame excuse: Exhausted....haven't ridden for a month prior to the race...

While the weather was nice on race day it rained heavily couple of days earlier, I quit after CP3 of 7, in the place called "Zombie graveyard", deep mud where a wrong line costs you energy and time to get out. After picking a wrong line I spent more than 30 mins to get out and I was so exhausted that I couldn't climb a short off camber hill afterwards. As time passed the race was over and I went to the camp to find food and alcohol....
After June rides got even more rare for me.....work, kid, more work, kid....a little vacation on the coast, work, kid, kid, work, kid....
Between a couple of short "Sprints" how I call my solo local rides only ride worth mentioning was last Tuesday with my riding buddy in the region of Zagorje.....easy rideable stuff, cca 150 km...
Only three pics...above a quarry we call "Zagorski Erzberg".....not allowed to ride around so only similarity with real Erzberg is that it is a quarry....
Hopefully in September I'll have more to report!

Extreme Enduro Lika 2014
On the weekend of 13.-14.09.2014. an Extreem Enduro race was held in Lika, Croatia. Around 200 riders in 4 classes; Expert, Hobby, Team and Veteran.
Only 17 Experts finished, cca 10 Hobby class riders, 2 teams and 4 Veterans also.
Rained for weeks before race but the weekend was nice.
I didn't race, my friends and me watched a little bit of Prolog on Saturday and went to ride on Velebit mountain and on Sunday we did some off road riding to get to the race and to the checkpoints we were interested to see.

The race was won by Martin Volny from Check Republic, 60 km, 13 checkpoints in 2,38 hrs.... Very hard conditions.
We enjoyed our "soft" ride around.....

Just to make it clear, I DID NOT race. This is the toughest race in Croatia, I don't have nor the skill or the money to back it up. Of 17 experts that finished at least ten bikes were trashed.
I recently asked a question on this forum, how come many of you ride 650's but I guess you ride different kind of terrain.
On this race there were no 4T Husabergs, mainly 2T different brands and small bore 4T KTM's and Sherco's.
'04-'08 Husabergs are, in my opinion "old style" enduro bikes. If I raced this race I'd be happy to get to CP3 but the bike would be trashed....
Anyways, glad that you enjoy this thread and I'll keep posting "reports", hopefully by the end of the year I catch some more riding time...

I hate races that are "bike breakers" and mud pits ...I just see no reason to put myself through that.
A 650 is definitely not for that type of riding as it will just wear you down ... Better on open stuff.
I used to race a 250 2t, now I race a 144. Much lighter and doesn't wear me out
I race xc and enduros.
it seems to me with the advent of extreme sports, a lot of organizations are trying to turn enduros in to one. I have no interest!

Awesome pix. As stated above, the 650 is totally the wrong machine for this. Indeed, Husaberg was pressuring Jarvis to roll the 570 in super enduro when it was introduced and he couldn't make it happen. Fortunately, HBG relented and he did ok on the smaller 4 stroke. Finally, he kicked *** on the 2 stroke. It's just not the type of course that rewards big power and less flickable handling. Still, your pix were awesome and I have huge respect for your having navigated your 'berg through the course!

The bikes the topriders use,are mostly 300 2 strokers like the redbull races for instance the Erzbergrodeo.
The difference is that if they thrash a bike it won 't hurt their wallet, as we have to pay the full bill in case of damage

Soft Enduro
Past weekend I joined a couple of my friends, BMW riders for a two day ride around Velebit mountain. Two of them are off road beginners and one is a solid rider. I borrowed a KTM 990 Adv off my friend just to add salt on the wound of my BMW equipped friends....
Being the fastest of the pack, I rode last and helped the less experienced to manage. I haven't ridden big bikes for a year, since I sold my LC4 Adv and I have to tell you...... I LOVED it. Lots of power, comfortable, stable....can't do Graham Jarvis **** but I haven't missed that for a sec....
Will need to get a 950 Adv soon ( I prefer the carb over EFI)!!

Josip Broz "Tito" was a president of Jugoslavia, not to get into political and historical ****......but the man had a really good taste....his hunting "cabin" in National park Risnjak, name of the location is Lividraga.....one word: SICK!!
