Thought Id let you guys know. Im taking my bike over to Jim (JD Jetting) to let him borrow the bike to finish developement/settings of his EFI tuner for our 570's.
You mean this bike can be improved on? :D

I will give you all the details I can when I get it back :D . Probably Wednesday or Thursday.

Saw a dyno run on FE450 with the JD fuel programmer...3+hp from 6K thru 8K. Impressive and easy!

Should get my bike back tonight.

I'll post all the info when I have it. It should be impressive as well.

I recieved my bike back.

The results mirror that of the 450's. Very impressive indeed!

While I havent had the chance to ride it in real conditions, I did ride through his test course a few times.
One word really describes what this tuner does. . . . .

Crisp.

Its like youve been riding a carbureted bike with one main jet size to rich. The bikes runs great, and you THINK its spot on. Then you do jet it to perfection, or, correct, and you think "WOW".

Instantaneous throttle response, not even comparable to stock. And so clean, and crisp at the same time.

The best part is that he dialed in all of the perfect settings for me  I can share these setting numbers to whomever is interested.

Is this equipment something that will be available to the rest of us (read: Europe/Sweden) ?
Will it be able to handle modifications such as opened airways (filter, exhaust, head) etc?

What did he do?
What did he use to tune it?
Did he use the OEM Keihin ECU?
Knock Sensors? What type? Where were the sensors mounted?
Air Fuel Ratio Meters? What type of Senor, Where was it positioned?
How did he do the Accelerator Enrichment Values? On the Dyno or On the Track?
Cold Start changes? Hot Start Changes?
What is his consensus on the Barometric Pressure Measurements and how the Keihin calculates it?
Did he work out how the Keihin ECU finds out TDC on the Compression stroke without a Camshaft Position Sensor?
Did he work out what the 15min "burn in" does in the Keihin ECU?
Did he find the tables in the Keihin ECU that shows what changes in the maps for different map switch positions (Soft, Standard, Aggressive)?

Did you take any pictures?
:confused2:

Here is his product page. James Dean has been making awesome jetting kits for awhile now. When he first started out, he made a kit for the KTM 4 strokes and it just fixed every complaint we had. This is a plug in unit where you can change the settings to make the bike crisper. So far all the reviews from actual riders on KTM's and Berg's are all positive. I have one on my Christmas list.

The tuner is outside the ECU. Tables and sensor information are not accessed.

Thanks to most for their polite, and positive posts!

It's really going to be interesting to see all of the improvements thoughout the entire throttle range tomorrow on our ride!

Regards

I've just purchased a 2011 Husa FE570.
I am going to purchase the JD EFI programmer this week and will post my results.

Installing the programmer was easy.
Called JD to ask how to program the unit
(the instructions are confusing to me). And they told me it was
optimized for my Husa. I ran it, and it was a bit better. After the ride I got
Impatient and decided to increase the settings in all circuits.
I took it for a ride in the neighborhood and couldn't believe the difference.
It's much stronger everywhere! I'm guessing the mileage will suffer
but I prefer more punch. It's still smooth, but stronger. So far, well worth the money .

I did a 45 mile ride yesterday with mostly single track and the bike really ran great. I changed my gearing to 13/49 and it runs from near stopped in first gear, right up to 95mph. I'm getting exactly 30mpg with the JD Tuner set as stock, meaning the original setting. It really didn't change the smooth characteristics of the fuel injection, but made it stronger. My bike is the '11 FE570S, so it came with a 14/42, so the JD Tuner and gearing made a world of difference.
I'm having the Euro map installed today, so maybe that will make it even better. If I had to do it again, I would have got the gearing where I wanted it, installed the Euro map, then try the tuner.

What do you mean by "you increased the settings"? Is it changing the ignition map, the fuel map, or both? Are you using a wideband A/F sensor or just going by feel?
