Has anyone installed a dual sport kit to their FE250? Does the FE250 make a good dual sport ride?
I do like it on the pavement but much better on the single track
If you had your front wheel off, check that it is installed properly and the fork tubes not twisted. Did you put slime in the tubliss? Slime helps to balance things out. I had tubliss, hated them. Not because of balance but because of flats.
I've run my 2010 FE 450 in a lot of dual sports but find it's a beast in the tight woods/single track (for me anyhow). I would LOVE to have a FE 250 for these type of DS rides.
CJ, What kind of mpg does your FE 250 get? Is it about 255 wet weight? Thanks
CJ,
I did get a new 2014 FE 250 and wow is it FUN! It's got a lot more power than I thought and feels so light. I rode it at Highland Park in N GA for the first time a couple weeks ago and they have some big climbs there and it just kept on going, I couldn't believe it. I can still feel the long wheelbase but you're right it's not as tiring as my 450 at the end of the day.
I got a map switch with it but couldn't find the connections, do you have one? Also got a rear brake light switch and like the map switch I think they gave me the wrong ones.
Not sure if I'll dual sport it as it really is a blast in the tight woods and I may just leave it alone (but I did wire in the key switch).
