650 Dead Dropped a valve (think) after only 1500kms since a $2000 rebuild. Who is the best berg mechanic in Australia? I cannot afford to keep fixing this bike.... total of only 7000kms and the rebuild done at around 5500kms.

that's tough mate!

but it isn't usually an explosion job....

pull the plug, then the carb, then shine a light through the inlet ports and turn the engine as much as you can.

rocker inspection caps off-what have you found?

regards

Taffy

when it died i tried to Kick start it, the kick start moved abit then it locked up into position after a couple of kicks and wont move no more.

Hi factor,
Man that is not good !!!! It's either very bad luck in a parts failure or an assembly or adjustment fault. Taffy's recommendations above are definitely your first move. Have some info on what has happened before you call anyone.
I have a lot of respect for John (ORANGEBERG) and Aiden's skills at Orange KTM/Husaberg. Give John a ring on 02 63603800. He has the race experience with the Bergs and knows everything there is to know about them. Surely you have read his posts here on UHE ?
This is where UHE shines, with people like Taffy and ORANGEBERG and Dale LINEWEAVER on board. People who have the runs on the board with the Bergs.
Get it fixed and then book your accommodation at Black Gold Cabins for the 2008 Aus Force Ride next year !!! It will be a great time.
Good luck.
Garry.

Hi Taffy,
I hear that Steve from over here in Oz is heading your way in the next few weeks. He is hoping to catch up with you and shake your hand and have a beer with you. Hope you guys can catch up.
Cheers :D
Garry.

That is very disappointing- let us know what you find once the problem is found.

No doubt you are really starting to look at that orange option after all the hassles you've had??

yep garry

he's popping in at sometime with the sheila and we'll be putting a name to a face.

get those inspection covers off! no dealer will knock you for at least imnspecting for the damage.

Taffy

RE: Re: Dropped a valve (think)

Is there any exceptional berg mechanics in OZ?

yeah.... i know a good one

the biggest problem is getting him out of bed , just likes to sit around and drink squirt .

excellent mechanical skills , motivation factor is zero .

Can no one get back to me about a mechanic who can ensure i get good reliablity out of my engine??

Well no idea yet but upon taking the valves covers off I see no problems there...

how long since the last failure / rebuild ?

i am thinking we have a warranty claim here , do you have no faith in the last mechanic ?

the problem could be behind the clutch cover

The mechanic was not a Berg mechanic so probably cant claim warranty....I dunno really
