Crankcase leak

Well, it seems by crankcase is leaking. It's more of a drip than anything. It does not seem to be super dramatic and this gives me another reason for keeping the skid plate on.

I guess I will ride this season like that and next summer split the case.

What do you guys think? Not making any bad noise or anything... (well right now the stator is somewhere between Arizona and Spain, so I can't tell for sure).

After all, I just did top end (I mean half of one), so naturally the next step...

Yes, they're all fine as far as I can see and I have eliminated a lot of drip spots, already. It seems to be seeping through the middle of the case.

I had a Husqvarna 500mx 4 speed for 16 years, God only knows how many hrs were on that motor, but after a year or two it started to leak oil between the center cases. After it's total rebuild it still leaked oil. This was not a problem, because the oil was drained after every ride. At that time oil was only $2 for a hi grade oil.

Well, this bike has always leaked since I got it and I managed to find all the spots. It just was a mess and not a nice advertisement for the Bergs. A pain to clean up. Also losing that much oil was not too good either. I had to overfill 100cc at each oil change.

It's right under, so the skid plate should catch it all but I'd rather not leak than leak.

Hhh it's not like it's a huge gap either, it's pretty tight (I would not say virginal).

Hi LeFrog,

When I pulled my engine apart I flatted both casings and noticed at the bottom of the cases, below the crank that there was some warpage not touching face to face 1.5 thou.
Use Wurth sealant this will cure your problem. Can you get this in the states.

Regards

Steve.

Yes I have Wurth and it is awesome. I already raved about it. It fixed mucho leako left and righto.

I guess I can try pushing some in there as well but no case splitting before next year (or before the bike really needs it).
