Hello gentlemen,I have a question regarding big end bearings.ok so I'm a tightarse and my bike is in bits ATM,pretty much full rebuild.anyway I nearly fell over at price of rod repair kit,I was looking around and found prox KTM pin (32x59.9) no problemo there! 32x40x20 bearings also easy to get,but no good if rod id is worn right?I stumbled across a manufacturer that makes 32x42x20 has anyone had big end bored to suit larger od bearing? Will it work? Thus saving me Lotsa coin

I doubt there would be any hardening left. Plus you would have to bore the flywheels out.
And the oil holes will most likely be in the wrong position, although that can be overcome.
What model?

No need to bore flywheels same size pin, spanner your point about hardening being removed is the kind of info I was looking for, thanks.bikes an 06 550,

Carrillo can make a one off for about 320usd

There are drawings of the Rod on this site if you search "Conrod drawings site:husaberg.org" from google they should come up

Cheers bush mechanic,so the price I got for OEM rod kit isn't that far off as it includes pin and bearing,I take it Carrillo it's rod only?I'm going to double check availability OEM.i guess the question I should ask is longevity OEM to aftermarket products?

yes with carillo its just the rod and for that price doesn't include a replaceable big end insert its just carburised (like oem)

oem is very good quality

best pricing on oem is if you have a USA address then you can order from USA dealers; see my signature.

orangeberg will probably have one too

Cheers gents i appreciate the time and effort it takes for informed responses.ill get in touch with orangeburg!
