Aftermarket or custom Conrods Pistons pins

That's not what I'm saying I was replying to the post above...
So now I will see if the rod's for the 570 from carillo have the same issue like the 628/644...
It should arrive next week and then a couple more weeks till I have it here and then send the crank away to get it fitted and look if it fits when I can finally start rebuild the engine;)

I can't find the thread back with rod specs so I post this here
I know this topic was about 650 but do'nt want to start a new thread for this;)

This kit is 50 grams heavy'r compared to stock the weight difference is in the rod itself the rod pin's are realy heavy maybe making this part out of titanium would be the best solution I guess (but probably not affordable).

Here are the same parts stock on same scale:)

Bushie,
FYI, after going through the 'Berg/KTM hybrid engine exercise, I've decided that the way to go is the custom rod route. As such, I'm collecting all of the parts needed and taking careful measurements for my next engine. The rod and wrist pin will be titanium. The big end bearing will include a removeable outer race and the little end will have a bronze bushing. I'm going all out here and even thinking about microblueing all of the rotating and sliding parts. I'll post up a model of the rod once the design is finalized and I suppose I'll start a thread on the subject once it's a little farther along.

By the way, educate me on the bronze washers that go on either side of the big end. Why do some engines have them while others don't? My 600 didn't have them but the Hot Rods kit I ordered to get the KTM rod, bearing, and pin did have them. I'm thinking that it might be a good idea for the Ti rod due to the tendency of Ti to gall. Thoughts?

PS I have 3 wrist pins for same bike but for different pistons all 3 are different in length and weight/shape.
The carillo pin is heavy and the ends are conical I tryed to use the lighter wossner pin that is also conical at the ends but it does not fit (a tad wider and less concial shaped ends I didnt have enough clearance to install the 2nd circlip).
The stock on is cut straight of at the ends and also lightweight (only 5 grams difference to the lightest wossner).
In the end I used the heavy carillo pin to go with the carillo piston / rod all together I guess my rotating mass is now aprrox 70-80 grams heavy'r compared to stock.
It would be nice to have a titaium wrist pin could save 100-200 grams however I don't think that will matter that much because the pin is very much in the center of rotation.
I don't think there are lighter pistons than the stock ones and rods custom made €€€€ wil see how she goes on the dyno soon with all those slow/heavy parts:p

nice one thorgan, that rod is gonna cost a bit :)

the thrust washers as far as i know are a carry over from 2 strokes and old oils, there are 2 stroke builders who remove them, same with the cr250fs where there is a debate that taking them out is actually better in the long run

my Ti wrist pin has C30 end plates pressed into it so the piston clips don't chew up the ends of the pin. maybe something to consider for the big end .. i have no experience with Ti in this situation.

husabelg.. Q.. could the wossner pin be used if you ground the ends back ? (made it shorter)

Wossner pin could be used with stock piston I think after making the sides flat.
On the carillo i would not use it because i think it needs the conical shape for the narrow circlips that come with it (stock ones are way thicker).
Sure after some more machining getting correct shape it could be used and save some weight but at what cost...
