Changing oil type..what 2 do?

Recently purchased a second hand 04 fe450 with 3000km done. The previous owner ran it on Motorex Fully syth oil. I have around 10 litres of Motul 5100 (which is a blend) left over from previous bike and thought rather than wasting it, I'd like to use it in the berger.

Is it any detriment to the internals changing oil types? If so..what? If not, would you just change oil as per the usual processs oris there some other method required when you change oil types ie... drop oil, fill with new (different) oil, ride around the block, drop oil and filters, then replace with new oil and filters?

Any helpsahelp

Motul 10w-40 comes also good out of the tests,Amsoil does not excist in Belgium,as for now I ride with ELF 10w-40.

I will use Motul in near future.

Anyway thanks for the good link.

Hi madero.you will need to know the motul and elf they are not synthetic oils.they are ester oils.they are so little real synthetik olis in the market. In greece there is not amsoil company.i buy them from uk.if you see in the site in presentantion of 10-40 mcf amsoil you will know why never i use motul oils

Yes i think 20-50 is good solution in the summer for bergs.for temps on from 30c degrees
