Carburettor settings

Hello.

I had to put apart a carburettor (Dellorto) of my 2001 FS650e.
Unfortunately, I have lost my notes about idling and mixture screw settings.

Does anybody know the approximate settings (how many turns)?

I think that mixture screw is around one turn, or so.

Thanks for your help.

Have a nice day.

Klemen-slo,

look into the owner-doc/carburation/dellorto
Everthing there

Almost. Sometimes the simple is overlooked ... Which direction leans the polit/starting circuit is not there. Could this be added to the doc?

RE: Re: RE: Carburettor settings

the screw is i believe an air bleed screw so the more open you screw it = the more air enters to make it leaner.

i believe the doc dopes explain how to set the carb by ear for the first time which is how you should do it anyway (ideally).

to recap:
get it running
adjust air screw to gain highest idle
lower idle to correct rpm of 1,800rpm.
adjust air screw again
adjust idle screw again for 1,800rpm (or abouts)
test ride noting any 'bog' and adjust the air screw to eradicate this. it should take about 1/4-of-a-turn either way.

If you go to the download section at www.husaberg.se, you should be able to print the old parts manual. At the end, it tells you how many turns out for the idle and the mixture screw. Usually around 5 out (+/- 1) for the idle and between 1 1/2 and 2 out for the mixture.

Then what Taffy says.

Check the download section on this site, for the 4 videos. I think the first one shows how to adjust mixture and idle.

Round slide Dellortos use a fuel mixture adjusting screw and flat slide Dellortos use the air bleed adjusting method.
