i have been in correspondence with UHE member 'kickaberg2' who has given me this info about the stirrup in the camchain tensioner mechanism being updated from the 2003 model on.

apparently it's altogether a better fit and the altered shape is more sympathetic to the run of the chain.

it's expected to keep the chain away from the water jacket.

this mod, plus the modified camchain tensioner button plus future use of DID camchains bodes well for longetivity.

it does back fit to older models.

thanks brian!

Hi Taffy,
Using a post 2003 tension arm (slipper) allows one to omit the tension mechanism button modification. Simply remove the crimped aluminum button and install the later tension arm.

Note:
A slight modification to the post 2003 tension arm pivot bushing is required.

Required part numbers:
Timing Chain slipper (tension arm) 800.36.002.000
Stepped Bushing (requires modification) 800.36.002.050

Best Regards,
Dale

Ps
You camshaft arrived.

cheers dale

i will put this in 'the document' soon and try and spend some time uprating it and getting it here. it used to have hyperlinks which i somehow conspired to destroy!!!!

brian has indicated that the alloy button could come off just yesterday whilst i was out.

the cam. give me a date when you can. no real rush at the moment.

regards

Taffy
