I have a problem with my 03 FE501 that when i open throttle full on tick over the engine bogs and cuts out, but if i open slowly it will rev ok, whats causing it to bog like that?
 
Hi Space,

The problem here is that you have either a to rich or to lean situation both can give the same effect.
I think you are on the Dellorto I am not to complacent with this model but I would say Pilot Jet and clip position on needle.
Have you been through the owners Doc?.

Try lowering the clip position on the needle, IE raise the needle.

Does this problem occurr while you are riding, or while the bike is on the stand? MY 01 Dellorto shod 501 will die if I just whack it open from idle on the stand. BUT, if I'm just putting along in whatever gear at low revs and whack it open there is no problem.
