bit rough a hair above idle (which area to adjust?)

i thought you lot just stayed under bridges in waiting?

whacko, absolutely whacko.....

..
So I have a 2006 KTM 250sxf w/ fcr carb. The bike idles well, starts easy, has great throttle response, no bog. The only problem is when I'm putting around with no real load/no acceleration say 1-2 gear with the throttle rolled just above idle it sounds a bit rough. How should i go about trying to clear this up? which part of the carb?

you have the wrong jetting in your carb fella OK? you can purchase a kit off myself or search around this site for jetting that is a lot better.

the needle is wrong and the needle is the 'queen bee' of the hive.

regards

Taffy

if all we are going to get is "dealer" advice all the time i wonder where UHE is heading 8O 8O . yep i know, i should bite my tongue but it looks like the moderators are so inept, the only thing they can do is chase me.

can i have my second warning please 'flanders'.

it's simple mate, your bike is running rich. drop the needle once. that should do it. if not report back with the symptoms.

good luck

Taffy

LMAO, Magic Beans and also a Crystal Ball. I gotta give it to ya Taff. I have never ever seen someone diagnose engines like you do. Got the answer for the problem without even seeing or testing the machine and motor. The roughness could also be from a worn wheel bearing or tight chain at that slow speed could be anything, Maybe a tire belt is twisted giving the roughness?? Who knows but I bet that Jet kit will fix it and its runnin rich. It sounds a bit rough lol, could it be a plugged air filter or exhaust flow problem?? I could go on for hours but gotta load the bikes as out and running for 4 days of riding. I will be sure to order the kit if my bike has any issues this weekend. I am sure it might solve my fuel injection mapping issues as well "Magic Beans in a box" Bahahahahahahahaha

you just keep going down and down in my estimation. you've reached 'complete ***' status. keep digging fella - keep digging.

the early KTMs were known for poor carburation, whther this year (2006) was one of them - I'm not sure.

Smash
you keep trying to pull me down to your level. 'we all have an opinion'. tes we do but having the wrong opinion and saying it out loud isn't what we want to hear. I'm not in the group of don't knows.

I'm certain Smash, you never read your children's books but do ask a family member where a Troll lives OK mate?

fact is, FE I'm not going to waste my time educationg you, that is why I'm careful with my answers.

just stay in the dark....under the bridge

I guess it's good that Taffy is fully revealing what he is.

Attached is a screenshot that shows what Taffy just said in case he has the business sense to try to remove it.

Note carefully that he of course has no objective arguments, only bluster.

As I've said before Taffy - you do not get to do this free of repercussion. All you have managed to do with this is to harden my resolve to actively dedicate my time to educating myself and guiding people so that they don't think they have to do business with you, fact-checking you every step of the way.

Taffy, I think you might be the troll. You have tried to shut down every idea we have suggested to solve this problem? you could of handled the situation more professionally, instead it's still taffy's way or the highway.

So many of us have grow up with bike's and repaired them since we were kids, nothing is more valuable then experience.

I don't dislike you as a person, but dislike your attitude here, even Taffy could be wrong.

Cheer up fella!

Well back from the ride for 4 days without any issues, bike ran great right out of the box without the need of any magic beans ha-ha. I hope everyone had a great long weekend here in BC and hope those abroad had a great weekend as well.
As for Taff lol, I do understand you are an experienced bike whatever. But how you seem to think that you amazing jet kit will fix all problems just astonishes me. I do understand you need this forum and possibly others to solicit to keep your business running but please don't ever think that you have a crystal ball and can diagnose anything correctly without looking at it. YOU ARE DOING NOTHING MORE THAN GUESSING and UPSELLING the magic beans. Anyone with so much as a first year technician can see and tell this is all it is haha.

well you aren't even a first year technician then are you.

occasionally I will say I sell something and that may be true here but the vast majority of the time I'm trying to help people and diagnose their problems.

I was doing it long before I started a business and continue to help for free where I can.

that help is somewhat limited by the tossers like you who tell me what I can't do and then ask me how I think I know like tourist does.

most of all, until this guy gets his bike running sweetly, neither you nor I know what the phuq the problem is 100% but he's looking for people's best shot, their informed opinion and all I hear is the bleating of sheep about how you can't know, how we all have an opinion.

I've been sorting the problems with these bikes since 2001 and put 13,000+ posts into helping people. you've been here two minutes and your a smart arse. you'll be gone soone hopefully, you have little input worthy of comment and the sooner you piss off the better.

Taffy

What is REALLY OBVIOUS here is that as soon as someone is a perceived threat to Taffy's broken ego - such as by not showing interest in being spoon-fed, by showing some inclination to understand things or, say, by being an actual freaking mechanic, our friend Taffy starts to try to drive them off the site.

And then does little theatrical performances about being concerned for the health of the site.

Just to be sure: I will stop tackling you if you just show some minimum manners and respect. That is all I ask. But I do demand it and I will work actively.

Now lets look at this statement ha-ha. neither you nor I know.

What I do know is that I do not tell people to spend money at my shop on a guess as I don't know. I try to help people not spend money as one can not be sure until the problem is diagnosed first, and not buy guessing and spending money. This is the sign of a poor technician " Throw parts at it until it is fixed" We certified technicians laugh at the shops who do this as the customer suffers by spending money on parts that are not required.

Not that I have to prove anything to you but I am far past a first year technician and instructed at a University level. I have credentials to show, Do You? I am not asking for money from the person on a guess I have. I offer services to GIVE friends parts on this forum helping them out and not myself, Can you say the same? I do have an issue with those who sell their services to ones who don't know on forums, as forums are for internet communities to help each other out, not help ones pocket book.

Got something to say now? Ya I didn't think so
