Big Bores for 70 degrees

Thanks for the pics. is this from TR?

Incidentally, re. shipping times, I think I can recommend MyUS.com. You get a shipping address in Florida, mostly free or very cheap and fast shipping within the US, they hold and consolidate into one bigger box, and end with very fast tracked shipping with FedEx or DHL directly to you – I get my packages in 2-4 days to my house in Iceland. Final shipping cost is very fair and by weight only. Total game changer. Not sure if it applies in this case, if it does this is a very useful service. Thanks to Bushie for recommending it initially.

Is there a recommendation for a timing chain beyond the OEM? I have no issues with the OEM (maybe price), just that I ‘think’ I may have read differences in length. Quality?

570.

Slowly getting there.

My projects are standing still as it's finally summer. TR took all of the dark winter when I planned to do it.

There just isn’t enough time in the day, plus I take on too much. I’m my own worst enemy in this regard.

When I finish putting this 610 together I’ll start stripping the blown motor for the rebuild into the 663. I’ll enjoy doing that being decades since I pulled a motor apart completely.

At the stage of turning it over, which it does. No fuel pump action by the sound of things. You don’t get that whir you normally get.

I haven’t had a motor in this bike as I bought it with the blown motor out. I’m using the tank off the FX450. Two connectors on that but I can only find one on the bike loom. I’m thinking one is for the fuel pump and if there was a second it would be for the low level?

I’ll keep digging.

Found it guys.

If using the later tank with low level connector on the ‘09 you need to bridge this connector to get the pump to work.

I was told by a friend that if I go 600+ I should lower the rev limiter. He knows of quite a few ruined 610/660s in australia and dubai that were driven as normal 570s and they cant take the same revs over time.
He recommended me to ask thumper racing for their recommendation. I have to contact them anyway to ask the status on my 590..

See what Travis has to say Jon if you don’t mind.

This 610 has the STD 570 crank so not balanced to the piston yet the 660’s are balanced but the longer stroke would require a lower rev limit.

I have a TR balanced crank for the 610 and piston kit here new. Undecided what I’ll do with that.

Wrong! Yeah I got that wrong. Unplugged the bridge and it still ran the pump. Bad connection I guess that moving the ECU may have triggered it to work.

True, you do have a balanced crank!

yessssss!!!! how was it???

Great mate.

Not a lot of traction in the wet paddock. Wheel spin up to and including 6th gear. With that said the gearing was 13/51. I’ll get that more realistic at or close to my other 570 for better comparison. The idle is high and I’ll check the TPS. Hopefully get her out in the bush over the weekend.

The answer from thumperracing regarding rev limit is 9850rpm for their kits.
My friend, who I trust more, thought 9500rpm is better for flattrack, ice or motard due to longer times on high revs. 9850rpm is ok for enduro, mx and offroad.

So I will go 9500 as mine will be used on tarmac. I will change the sprockets so it stays longer on each gear and let the power pull it. Must get a cush hub....

9850 is std 570 from memory.

I’m with you guys, 9500 is plenty.

Yeah 9500 is plenty. Yes I also think that 9850 is stock. 450 has 10200 I think so the 9500 is another 350rpm lower. My tuned 570 had 11200 as limit... I changed oil every 5th hour.
