Better exhaust for 2007 FE550...

Hi Guys,
what are my options on exhaust upgrade for my FE550? Akrapovic system is discontinued and can't be ordered anymore.. would FS550 system fit? Someone told me that factory slipon will fit FS headers as they are bigger than FE.. not sure if its true as I did not have FS and FE next to each other..
Stock exhaust is too quiet.. and I would love to have system on it as it is biggest gain.

You can find all the info needed in existing topics.
Exhaust from 550/650 will fit.
cheapest way is to modify stock can.
more expensive buy an fc can.
buy afterarket slipon.
buy complete exhaust system - doma, akrapovic, zard etc.
the most expensive way would probably be to buy custom made exhaust system from a specialist.

don't forget about setting up proper afr under load (mid and high rpm) after changing exhaust..

Maybe I am google retarded but spent few days trying to find exhaust I can buy for my 07 550e and only info I have found that Akrapovic factory system is discontinued, nothing else, also found the stock exhaust mod.. I think I will have to live with stock mod till someone will have system for sale. :(
 
cheapest and very effective solution is to get rid of everything that prevents the flow from being straight throughout all the stock muffler. make it just the perforated pipe in cover and fiberglass inbetween. I call it Atrapovic. This does the same as Akrapovic, is cheap, but is little bit heavier. You will have to grindle and weld a bit. Sound is also exactly the same as the slovenian thing makes. not very discrete in the woods, so better for sm and mx use.

Doma racing does not respond on emails...and I don't speak German to be able to call them.. I did end cap mod yesterday, it is louder, did not ride it yet tho! ;-) Thought that 2004 has different exhaust than 2006-2008..

Yes it does but complete exhaust, headers + mid section + can will fit.
You would not be able to mount only the silencer.
 
Quiet mufflers save riding areas. Big obnoxious exhaust noise helps us lose off-road riding areas. On the road ok. Let the police decide if it is too loud.
 
I'm just doing this on my supermoto - loud pipes save lives, if they can't see me - they will hear me, offroad berg has stock exhaust and it will stay that way.. :)
Bike is bit louder and feels snappier! :)
