It is all about the shape,whenI have installed a FP it was quite stronger on top rpm than an akrapovic,but less at low rpm.

I think the best for high output is a double tube exhaust and 2 silencers,then you will benefit from high HP output but will loose some on the low rpm.

Akra is good ,but there are indeed better exhaust systems,depending on what power the pilot wants on top or low rpm power.

is that yours in the pics with the double exhaust?

No, sorry this beauty isn't mine, it's Adrien Goguet's bike, first place on the french championship, team MHRM.
This exhaust is a proto, and in the last pic you can see how many Db it does.
And from the mouth of it's owner, this exhaust is way better than the akra
 
so you see ,akra has a good reputation but it's not for every bike the best solution.
and then again, what is the best solution,top or mid range power...that's open to discussion allso depending for what purpose ...

so how is your 550 so far,is it better with the different gearing now? i've swithed to 16/40, coming from 15/40.
for street use it's so much better IMO.

For the moment, I'm in 15-40, but I'm seriously thinking about put a 42 sprocket.
I'll receve a full doma exhaust in the next couple of weeks, and I'll see if I change or not.
For me, 16-40 is to tall, I miss power in 3th and 4th gear with this gearing.

well i don't miss power at all :roll: it feel like it's even pulling strong in 6th gear :eek: and my bike is fully standard,for now 8)
 
what about downhill then :p
no, i understand,when it's uphill i can see 6th gear is unusable :-s
maybe indeed 15/42 might be good setup.
