Backfiring..

I wonder if the following is normal:

When i drive the bike (fc501) with normal gas, it runs without any backfiring, it also doesnt backfire at idle. and i can also give pretty much throttle and go off the throttle without backfire.

But when I give it full throttle and let it rev up on rpm pretty much and releases the throttle I can sometimes hear a couple of backfire..

is this normal ? what can i do to solve the problem?

possibly running lean. put your jets in coca cola overnight and see if that helps or turn the mixture screw out a 1/4 turn.

backfire

I have turned the mixture screw all way in, and 2,5 turns out.
is this ok? I will look at the colour of the spark plug today..
it should be brown right?

Oooo man did you blow it now!!!

Taffy is gona give you the "Nanny 911" lashing and put you in the naughty chair for 1 hour!!

It will go something like this, " Never pull the plug..... Never, never, never, never.......... NEVER!!!

HAD TO DO IT.......

Laters,

hmm

what? :D you cant blow a engine by looking at the spark plug, or turning the mixture screw....

no problems looking at the plug with a SEM ignition. if you think you really can learn a lot from it then do....some people just nnnneeeevvvveeeerrr listen!

me? i have the leanest jetting in the world and the plug is still brown-so go figure that out.

jet

how big should the main jet be on a 96 fc501 with ported head and 38mm dellorto flatslide and laser exhaust?

jetting

I had a bmw 325i before, which I turbocharged. I did 0,5bar pressure on a standard engine without anything else but a progressive fuel pressure regualtor. The colour of the sparkplugs became grey... so i inserted a map fueler 2 system with 2, 500ccm jets. Then i got the right brown color..

So dont say you cant se something about the mixture by looking at the spark plugs..

i don't know what tone you had to the last comment but i'll take it that i'm misunderstanding you.

fact is mate, you can't get a colour with the kokusan ignition. ok?

and as for your jetting, well it's very kind of you to tell us much, much later what you've done to the engine and exhaust...

without knowing what's in it now i wouldn't hazard a guess but what i would perhaps do is try and interpret the noises and feel.

going by the plug colour on a nine year old bike is possible but it isn't plausable.
