Now over 500 views and still things look good for the "new breed" of 'bergs. Looks like the old weak spots including the CB bearing, cam follows, and and mains are a thing of the past. Very encouraging indeed. I am curious, are people replacing the bearings, rockers, etc per the manual?

2004 FE550: 76 hours, no problems - I stopped checking the valves as they have not changed since the 20 hour mark.

:D :D 2042 Miles 80 Hours on my 04 FE550. Purchased 11/04
Still starts and runs perfectly. I have raced 9 desert races (80-105mi. each) so far this year. Every one has been a finish. Only changing the oil, cleaning the filter and adding gas.
Valves don't really change at all. I think I had to loosten the intake a bit this last time.
It still looks great! Nothing has failed.
I have never used a hot start button.
The bike is mostly stock (except for the Scotts oil filter).
The only things I had to replace have been tires, chain, sprockets, fork seals, brake pads(rear-due to harsh conditions).
Racer support could be better. Supermototeam, and this site are huge support.
Hope this helps..
John

I have had my 05 Husaberg FC550 since February05 and approximately 50 gallons of fuel. It starts within four kicks (that's on a bad day), if I stall it in a turn (MX track), I pull the clutch in and it starts within two kicks (without hot-start button). The ignition and carb is a perfect match. Gotta love that 550 power, I pulled every 450 up the Glen Helen-Yamaha hill by two to three bike lengths and a 06KTM 250F by four to five bike lengths.
