Atlantic Coast Dealer tour

Gents,

The weak area of the continent for dealers is along the Atlantic coast. I need to change that. So, the only way I know how is to hit the road. Initially I was going to fly to bike week, but I may change my plans if I can determine who might be interested in becoming a dealer. For that, I need the help of the members of this site.

If you are or know of a dealer that may be interested in Husaberg, from Maine to Florida, please let me know. I would like to schedule a trip to bike week, with truck and trailer and bikes, visiting dealers and prospects along the way.
Time is short, poor planning. However, if you have someone in mind, please provide some contact info and I will in turn try to line up an appointment as I make my way either south, or back North.

Your help is appreciated.

Best Regards
jedi

re: potential dealer

Hi Josh,

Smith Powersports in Hayesville, NC is the only place I know of in my area that has the potential to pick up another line. To be honest, I have no first hand dealings with them, but my brother bought his KTM from them, and was very happy with the service. They are a Huge store with Suzuki, KTM, and I think Kawasaki, as well as skidoo's and 4 wheelers.

thanks,

Hi. Here is one dealership that I deal with some that might be interested. They used to sell Husabergs in the past and can still order parts through them. They are called Funcycles and the address is I-40 Exit 111-517Abee`s Grove Church Rd. Valdese,NC 28690. Their phone no. is (828)874-4680. They carry Suzuki, Polaris, Victory, KTM. The other makes but I have seen no new ones are ATK and Husaberg. Thanks

Thx Wild Bill, I talked to Willy Bradshaw at Fun Cycles and have an apointment next week.

Overall, 13 apointments with dealers, plus the Aligator Enduro, GNCC in Georgia and Supercross. Should make for an exciting and busy week. Hopefully upon my return we will have a good base of dealers to service the eastern seaboard, for all you eastern bergers.

Cheers

Has any dealer in the New England area shown interest?

I know that Husabergler & I are the only 2 in Northern MA & Southern NH that seem to have 'Bergs..the only ones who race them in our area for sure.

PLENTY of people stop in between heats and ask about the bikes and are impressed with not only the bikes but Husaberglers knowledge of the machines.

Would be really great to have "local" representation.

Atomic Punk, I'm in the area, kinda. SW CT, Redding. I, and one other have a berg. The one other is a Supermoto.

Jedi, could you publish a list of where you will be going and when, I might fancy to meet you somewhere.

Check out MotoBritalia in Alpharetta, GA (NE of Atlanta)www.motobritalia.com
They used to carry Husky but dropped the line when they ran out of space. They have since moved to a large, new building and would be an ideal dealer for Husaberg.

building the game plan now.
going to try to hit 5 or 6 dealers on way down and then 7 or 8 on waqy back. I have told most guys that I will call them a day ahead because I have a feeling that this could turn into a scheduling nightmare.

Thx for the additional leads

Does that mean you will bikes to demo ride at the Aonia (GA) GNCC?????

Jedi, did you go to the Alligator? How did the trip go in the southeast? I recall a certain fellow overalling some enduros on a Berg back in 99 and 2000 down here in the south! Could be a good starting place.

Trip went well. MEt with a lot of good dealerships.
Unfortunately the travel time between shops affected my ability to attend some of the events. I got to take in the Supercross courtesy of the great guys at Primedia, but other than that, I was a road warrior showing off bikes.

I am still ironing out details, but I believe within a couple weeks there will be bergs at 5 new locations.

Once finalized, I'll let you know who and where.

Cheers

did ya, did ya, didja?

heya sir,

Did you finally get together w/Charles at Smith Powersports? He seemed genuinely bummed that he missed you in FL, and from talking to him, it seems that they are open and even excited about dealing w/Husaberg.

thanks,

Hi Jason,

Charles and I actually traded voice mails today. He is going over the program and we are going to catch up tomorrow. I feel the same, he is quite positive and I hope to be able to put something together soon.

Cheers
Josh

oh yay!

Hi Josh,

That's super news. Aside from the completely obvious selfish reasons, that also makes me happy because they seem to be a shop that really pushes any brand they deal with. You'll understand if/when you get to see their store.

Thank you guys(BMG) for working to get dealers on this coast. Historically, it's always been a weak spot for the brand, and I think this will pick up a great percentage of your coming sales.

thanks,

Schwim,
The off-road sales numbers for the New England states(Maine,New Hampshire,Vermont.New York,New Jersey,Pennsyvania,Connecticut and Massachusetts) are just about equal to California.(Stats from Jan 2005 Dealernews). As there are few Husaberg dealers in the northeast I do believe it would drive sales as you suggest.Just keep pushing that rock uphill Jedi :D :D .....nsman

I concur, Dr.

heya nsman,

NE has always carried almost all of the east coast. If we can get everyone on this side to act like the hard core cold peeps up-country, I think we'll turn the tables on those pinko-commie Californians :D

thanks,

Schwim,
If you think that the californians are pinko-commies what does that make us Canadians? We have govt health care, child care, welfare, education, hardly any toll roads in the whole freakin county, govt subsidies for university,ferries,trains...heck if one province is doing better than another they give money to the less fortunate one(we call it equalization payments)govt supports unwed mothers, old people, street people with bad habits,if you go bankrupt you get free council, free legal aid,and my all time favorite ,if your a prisoner in jail and you get hurt making license plates you get a life time disability pension.....and to top it all off we go to Cuba for a vacation.....dont tell george whats going on up here, he will flip........nsman

misinformation

I'm simply running on some new info I gained from Tuts, that being:

"Californians are bad drivers, plus they like to screw with you...."

I just like the phrase "pinko-commie" and never get to use it quite enough.

Last week I went to the Citgo for coffee, and am now banned from there because I asked the lady behind the counter "Where's the creamer, you pinko-commie?" Looking back on it, the phrase probably didn't apply all too well, but when does it apply well?

Oh, and I always wanted to try my hand at making license plates. That would rock.

[EDIT] to clarify, I don't think California has been invaded by communists. I haven't been banned from the local gas station. This was in jest, so please no taking the thread off topic with rebuttals to my statements. I do however think that I'd be a pretty good license plate presser.[/EDIT]

thanks,
