anyone got .44 or .46 fork springs (48mm) lying around?

any of you big fellers already shell out for stiffer springs for your 06 and still have the stock 44's around? i'd like to go a little stiffer for the dez, and if i can, i'd just as soon buy someone else's springs.

not much help mark but i would keep my eyes close to the adverts on ktalk. they do come up.

there is no way IMHO that you need .46s but i would guess you're trying to buy these so you can split the springs and get a different #. 44s max.

I have set of stock .44's in the garage off an 05 fe450. I don't think i'll be using them in the future, so I could be willing to part with them.

i suspect you are probably correct taffy, but i figured it wouldn't hurt to try uber-heavy springs for dezert racing, and i could always sell them easily to the next big fella. i've been watching ktmtalk for about a week. i've been seeing some lighter springs for sale, but no .44's.

ramo1, are you sure you have .44's? i was under the impression that the 05's came with .42's and in 06 they went to .44's. my bike is an 05 fe550 and everyone is telling me they are .42's stock.

After further review, the manual I have is for an '06 not an '05 so I guess the rates were different. Sorry I couldn't help.

somewhere on ktalk someone once put that the 44 and 46s are 5.2mm wire and the 40 and 42s are 5.1mm wire.

TBC

Velo,
Like I said over at the KTM site, I don't think the 46's will be too much. The '05 valving is so soft that running a higher weight fork spring is no problem, IMHO.

I've got some 46's in mine. '46's for me are still not enough. I have a permanent black streak under my front fender where the tire has rubbed on it. I know I'm way heavier than you, though.

You'd be welcome to my 46's, but who knows when I'll get off my butt and order my new ones.

i'm picking up a .44 and .46, so i'll try those to make .45 spring rate first. i don't think i can wait long enough for you to get off your butt, j/k.
