Also it's pretty obvious the muffler aint going to go on as it'll need the flared out end to go over the end of the headers...it seems there is about a 5" part missing with the belled out end...

Or am I supposed to chop into the end section that is on the standard muffler and use it to connect the headers to the A'povic muffler....

Would appreciate some thoughts here boys, because I'm F*^%ed if I know and now I've got the pox on...

Hi Pilot,

you have the same year as mine, the 04 has a longer tail coming out of the back of the muffler, they changed the system in 05 to just a small stub connection this sounds like what you have, sorry mate it aint going to fit.

did you get that last week on ebay? I was going to bid for that but it did not line up with the picture of what I thought would fit my bike 08 450. I now think it will fit so if it is the wrong one for your bike and you want to get rid of it let me know.

What year bike is your 550? I am guessing you have 2004 or earlier. If that is the case you need the muffler with the longer kneck? The other possiblity is that is the muffler that should go with the titatium headers. The guy that sold it had a 650 and when I spoke to him he mentioned things go better with the titatium headers. He did mention the part number that was in the box... I wrote it down but can't find it... at the time I could not reconcile the part numbers so did not bid. I now think I have worked out the correct numbers so if you tell me the part number I can work out what it is. I know it has a short kneck, but when it was on ebay not sure if it is for the factory headers or stock headers. The year of your bike and the part number of the muffler is what I need to tell you what is what.

Hi Pilot, yes if it is the right one for my bike I am interested, so if you can find the part number in the box let me know. When I looked at it in the photo on ebay it seemed to have a different carbon fibre strap than in the brochure, but the pricture in the brochure could be out of date. I have a new 08 450 FE.
