Hi all,
In a quest for more power i am considering a revised air intake setup on my FC600 / 41mm FCR setup.
Since the ideal airflow characteristic for a carb intake is laminar flow with minimal resistance, the 90deg inlet rubber on the back of the carb to me seems like a major compromise on power between simplicity of design / keeping the filter clean. Since my bike is used on road and hardly ever sees dirt i am considering an extended intake trumpet with K&N straight on the end to give minimal resistance and reduce turbulent flow to a minimum.
I would welcome any thoughts on this from members. Has anyone done this before ? I am guesing that i will probably have to go up a mj size to get things running correctly. Hopefully this setup will release 2-3 extra ponies.
If i ever do go off road i can always stick a sock over the air filter.
