Ok , there are a few guys who can chime in about this comparison.
I had just been comparing the 650 to the 550 I just bought.
But I thought it would be interesting to hear the differences between the 650 and the 700.
I think its about 60cc difference. 628 to 690 or so. But interested in the power delivery difference. Which one revs quicker. Or the same? How much more HP with the 700. What are the low , mid and top end changes. Is the 700 a lot faster and where does it shine the most?

700 better everywhere if you run at least 36/32mm valves and port the head

with standard valves and head the delivery of the 700 is a bit lumpy but its still an easier to ride and faster better engine.

about 75hp from my 700 and 360 hours of very hard labour even then only a small crack in the piston.

i tuned up a 628 to make about the same HP at higher rpm, it lasted 100 hours then everything broke

i dont really understand the practical application of the general observation "it revs up quicker" because when the engine has load, really significant load, then the bigger engine builds revs quicker. (it has more grunt)

IMHO if there isn't enough load to show this difference up then it doesn't matter which bike you are on.
