570 on the dyno.

So I had some dyno time today with my '10 FS570.

I got to do a few different runs with a few different results.
Bike has about 140 hours on the motor too.

1st couple of runs = bone stock. Stock air filter, stock exhaust. 56.5 hp / 40.11 ft-lbs
2nd couple of runs = done with how I use it; Akra slip on, DNA air filter. 56.2 hp /41.32 ft-lbs
3rd runs were without the seat on.... 58.22 hp / 42.18 ft-lbs

So its kinda ****** that we got LESS peak HP with my race setup... However have a look at the torque curve compared to stock and it is with out a doubt, much better. The Power/torque gains from 4,300 to 6,000 rpm over stock are obvious when riding. I feel it..

The seat off was a shock to my dyno guy. My seat is now @ an upholsterer getting a nice big hole cut in the front of it. I was going to get the UST map installed this week, along with a Bergos 44mm Throttle body, but I may skip the UST map. Peak HP is a fair bit infront of the rev limit, having an extra 1K rpm from the UST map is probably a waste of time.

The air/fuel was almost perfect in race trim, just on the rich side. However the seat off leaned it off making the ratio perfect.

I will be getting the bike dyno'd again over the next couple of weeks, after the bergos throttle body is installed, and again further down the line after the head gets ported.. (need more $$ :) )

heres the printout. Sorry its a bit blurry, took it with a camera, dont have a scanner.

looks like the forum cuts the image off a bit. heres the direct link to the image. http://i247.photobucket.com/albums/gg13 ... dyno-1.jpg

If only you would have taken the seat off wacked the Akra on and let it idle for 5 minutes or 15 minutes or 10 minutes to do a "Burn in" before that dyno run

That is all these bikes need! A good "Burn in" just would have suprised you and me with the dyno figures

yeah rear wheel mate.

Lol Davo, sounds like that still urks you a bit eh? :D

Good figures then, 56 rwhp 100% stock is very nice.

I must take my 650 to a dyno soon after service done.

It drives me mad how the the ECU is credited to be so smart but has no intelligent inputs :bash:
The inlet manifold is so small and you can see the valves when you look down there, just puzzles me how the MAP sensor can get any sort of coherent reading. But I am not an engineer so I have no idea

Anyway well done with posting those results. That is very interesting. Best post I have seen on here in a long time. :eek:ccasion5:

My results with the seat off were much better. Multiple times my last runs on the dyno were with the seat off. Everytime was 4+ hp and the A/F ratio moved to 13.5. This was first with the lean stock map and then the UT map. By the way, if you put the UT map in, plan to spend some time mapping. It sucks. I did the seat mod and really like it. Pulls thru the gear much quicker. Take ear plugs with ya

yeah I wont be doing the UT map. My seat is at the upholsterer at the moment, getting a nice big hole cut.

Good stuff wierus, you have inspired me to have a crack at it myself.

Yea yea. I've now stretched my 570 to a 610 by way of Thumper racing big bore kit, and the intake noise, especially at idle is...... well it sounds like satan is inside my throttlebody

So are you saying the site is healthy.

Not sure, seems OK at the moment. I will make an official call on UHE health when the next newbie comes along and mentions suspension

Funniest. Shizz. Ever!!!!!! You owe me a new computer Davo coz I just spat beer all over this one.

berglsmerg,
I'm curious about how your exhaust system became possessed! Are you running the factory muffler in stock configuration, have you modified it, or have you replaced it?

I heard Satan's mom was a 250kg Welsh Tranny with substance abuse issues suffering from OCD PMT Delusions and Paranoia get her and Satan to fight over the piston it'll sound twice as angry :D

Hi, I am curious about the seat mod. Is there any way to do this while retaining good looks and keeping dirt and water out. Any pics?

Bngt

Nope, it's a big old open hole straight down to the throttle body. I am trying to figure out some sort of plastic scoop(say 1cm tall and say 10 cm wide) that could be attatched to the seat pan that draws from the sides.

Take the seat to a upholstery shop and tell them to stitch some fine mesh over the hole. It will keep biggest rocks and stuff away but dirt will still enter. This is why I have 2 seats atm.

Guys,

is it dangerous to do the seat mod without UST or some other sort of ignition tuning? I thought the EFI would take care of providing a fuel-air mixture that would maximize power/economy, but browsing some threads it looks like the engine may run too lean from the mod alone?

Also, if I'm not a KTM dealer with access to the UST, is there any aftermarket tool you recommend for tuning EFI/ECU?

Thanks!

Get/make an Outerwears cover for the hole, it would work on the underside of the seat pan, and it should keep most of the coarse bits out and is fairly waterproof for and splashes during a race. I had one on a modified TRX700xx and it worked perfect and I never had an issue. Here's a link to the quad airbox cover to get an idea...

I know that the 570 was dynoed with and without the seat, however was it ever dynoed with the modified seat? It would be interesting to see how the HP figures compare.
