450 FE 2010 - temporary wont start

Hi,

My recently new to me husaberg FE450 2010 wouldn't restart after a 20 minute break - starter would turn the motor over but bike was dead - no F1 light or fuel pump.

2 days later i got a 4wd 25 kms into the park and recovered the bike that still wouldn't start. After the bike was unloaded a few hours later it runs perfectly !!! :furious::furious::furious:

I understand a relay turns the bike on for a few seconds after it sees a current from the alternator

Question is - is the fix as simple as changing the main power relay or is it likely something else ? if so what needs checking or changing ?

Thanks

Maybe a bad cable/connection somewhere to the kill switch? Maybe there is something wrong with the roll over sensor?
It could be that the bumpy ride home on the 4wd shaked something back in place..?

Check the wiring diagram, from memory, power to the main relay (starter) has one wire that goes through the starter button to Fuel pump, and powers other stuff (like FI)

You can jump the computer diagnostics (pins 5 and 6, but please check) to bypass the starter circuit from the diagnostics port. This will get the computer to trigger the FI pump etc.

Having said all that, it could be as simple as a loose battery connection, or as complicated as a broken/crimped wire (the wiring looms are packaged tightly)
