I've been doing tests with a piston of 95mm bore size and it is working a treat, has been for a year now and I thought I'd tell you. with the cost of a 92mm barrel not at £400/$600US when they score it is nice to know they can be saved.
basically, I had a 380 come in with a knackered liner and it wasn't salvageable. so I took it to 95mm and found a very tall piston to do the job. machined it to suit and kept a very high compression and the performance of the 92mm plus a bit more ooomph.
I can also use the same piston on a genuine 2001-2005 501 to get high compression.
on the lil 400s (92mm) it isn't necessary as the piston height is so short that a Husaberg 501 (95mm) can be used.
