My mate took his bike for a service and MPE Paul Baericke at Caloundra has a brand new 570 on the floor. I thought they were all sold out, but he had been holding it for a bloke for ages whose finance fell through, so it is for sale again. Might be the last one in the country!

**** off KTM!!!! No brand,no supermoto,no 70 deg engine??!!!Whats this????Husa is a brand with a tifosi style customers.Why they want to **** everything,why?????

Australian Motorcycle Sales Figures show that Husaberg had a 168% increase in sales during 2009 (compared to 2008). http://www.mcnews.com.au/NewsArchives/2009/Sales_2009/top_brands_offroad.htm.

In 2010 Australian Husaberg sales then understandably decreased significantly back to around -25% and then stabilised with an increase of 2.7% in 2011. (Reference http://www.fcai.com.au/)

This without doubt demonstrates that the 70 degree engine was the major contributor to the increase of sales in Australia. I will be watching the 2013 sales figures very closely as I am predicting a drop of well over 80%.

Regretfully this is the begining of the end for Husaberg as the consumer will on almost every occasion choose the KTM over the Berg due to the huge KTM parts and merchandising market.

Cheers Jason

Good info

I'll find it hard to part with my 12 Te250 and 09 Fe450 for a new blue 13 Husaberg. Its a really big let down when the 70* is winning in E2 and EJ at the moment what happened to the latest greatest 450?? 500?? Ktm knight proved it was crap what makes the 501 husaberg any different but blue plastics and different fork.

The whole sales pitch on the new models is awful. 350 and 501 classic husaberg deep in the sweedish valleys ect, its just a Ktm :spank:

I did always say to myself Ktm will fall off the high horse at some point I thought Husaberg would be the brand to do it but now I'm not to sure. All husqvarna have to do is bring out a updated 2 stroke and they will sell

I got a little bit of flak when I made this statement a few years ago...

I suspect that soon enough as what usually happens when large corporations get involved we'll be driving KTM's be it Orange or Blue. This 2 stroke thing just enforces that feeling for me. If the slanted engine is so good how long before the orange bikes have them? I wonder how those swedish guys in the video smiling for the camera talking about a Husaberg 2 stroke felt. Please. We're not idiots. A sticker and a clutch cover do not a Husaberg make.
Taffy had a point though a company cannot exhist on 2 models of a bike and this is a dollars and cents decision.

Thanks to KTM for killing off the best brand name in the business.

has any of u boys read tbm this month? without going in to much detail they rekon it feels different to ktms, also it was a case of if berg didnot do what they have done with the 13s then there would be no more berg,eg down the pan!
also guy on another forum has ridden them & said there superb bike & it felf nothing like his ktm, there could be few changed minds i think.i spect there was a few diehard pre 09 fans that had a change of heart after riding them,i guess untill weve riden the 13s no one really knows, but u never know it might be for the better!
ps im one them ones that dont really know why they got rid of the 70d but i do know they were starting to look bit dated but im still not sure if the 13s on paper look any more modern

I got the opposite impression off the review in Tbm they just said clamps and forks made it feel different but nothing a 6 day can't match. Did you not see how much they wrote about the Fe350? About twenty words saying we all know the Ktm 350 is best and husaberg is much of a muchness.

Yeah I supposes u could say there sitting on the fence, they do say they differ sufficiently enough from ktms, also go on to say there are of course many differences from Ktm but yep I spose ur rite they don't actually say alot about it on the dirt wise. They do come with bigger tanks placky subframe & few trick bits but what everyone wants to know are they different/better/worse & why than ktms & the 70d
So looks like we're have to wait to see what joe public have to say
Yeh had a chuckle about poxy words they said about the 350, did they actually ride the thing!

Several years ago I discovered the lightest, most powerful dirtbike on the planet. It was a no compromise unforgiving monster and proudly displayed the name Husaberg. That's over and done with now.
You know that Simpsons episode when they go to Australia and Marge orders a coffee and the bartender keeps saying beer. Well that's basically how it will be for Husaberg. You can say Husaberg but everyone will hear KTM.

Very good

I'm wondering what is different on the 501 vs the KTM 500. I haven't seen much (or, anything) about this on the web. Granted, I'm not really in the market for a $10k+ bike, but in a couple years, I might be able to afford a used '13.

Does anybody happen to know if the 2012+ KTM EXC fuel tanks will fit the new Bergs? E.g. the 20 liter made for the 500 EXC?

While I hate the new air filter location the conventional sit-on-top-of-the-frame-and-remove-in-1-minute tank will be really nice to have!! :D
