So last week on New years day

I got this little beauty, 100 hours on the bike and fairly clean for a husaberg

So few days later here it is

Stripped to bare bone, frame out being freshly pained and everything that dry is greased, everything thats oily has been cleaned.

all connectors are cleaned and dielectric grease added,

new headstock, swingers and shock beings ready to fit once arrive.

New sprockets and my poor attempt to make up a DIY rear graphic for the original rear fender. have new white one that will fit once i thrash this black one.

To do:

re assemble
order some flood and spot lights
service
ride ride ride

so far gas tank cap seems like a bitch to open and close,

steering lock stiff so need sort that

overall happy with the bike

Disassemble the fuel cap and cut the tangs on the ends of the thing three arm lock section and the fuel cap will come off easily.

What I found was to pull the fuel line off the cap and push down on that part of fuel cap and it comes off easy then. Your doing it right going thru the bike that way. Wish I had that kind of energy still.

Cheers ill chop thoes tangs off

Still its nice having it semi locked

Is the steering lock something gives trouble

Try cutting two out of the three and see. I did that with mine and it locks, but it isn't curse word inducing. I've had to cut those stupid little tangs off of all my ktm/this husaberg gas caps. At least ktm has gotten smart enough to do a twist cap within the last few years.

I see the point but if going make a cap lock then fit a key

Maybe When the cap was put together it was wrong? I had one that way. Just line up the tabs.

It has rekluse fitted but looks like may have been oem cluth not sure

Made up some kydex guards too. Only realised i made one the wrong way round, ie shiny side out

Did you use a press to get the kydex to conform to the shape of engine covers?
I've ordered a sheet of it to try this out. Looks good.

the press was my 16 stone on top of it.

heated kydex to 180 degrees C

Heated case with a heat gun.

lay kydex on part, then sheet baking paper, then some dense foam. pushed down hard all round and got it 90% formed

then once hard gone solid, i took head gun an heated areas wanted better fit or form around tight spots and just pushed in and held with gloved hand till cooled
