2011 FE390: Backlight Speedometer?

Hi

I have no backlight for speedo, speedo also has 3 connectors underneath, only 1 of them connected, dont know where the other goes.. Is there wiring schematics for this bike somewhere? or a place to buy a brand new electrical wiring net?

Much appreciated

Wish i had complete answers to the actual questions youre asking, sorry, but want to mention this: are all fuses whole? one fuse operates the speedo / blinkers / rear brale. the speedo has a battery so it works without power, except there is no light then

My 2010 FE570 doesn't have a backlight either. I queried the dealer about it when i first noticed and he told me they are all like that! I found it hard to believe that they can sell a road registered vehicle without a visible speedo at night. I believe he just didn't want to deal with it, as i found out later on he is a lazy prick! I have never bothered looking further into it as i don't ride at night ( unless i spend a little too long at the pub, ha ha!). If you find it to be an easy fix then please let us know!

P.S. All my other "older" bergs all had/have working backlights!

So I asked the google about this problem. Seems the M.A.E. Elettronica unit is quite unreliable, apparently a lucky dip according to a few other boards. Mine works ok but if it fails I'll go for a vapor or similar unit.

Doesnt help the current problem though.

if i some day sooner or later get more into what aftermarket units are any good and have the money, maybe i do that, i will then take the speedo in and investigate deep and analyze exactly the fault, not bad connector behind screen, battery is for saving etc, the supply comes elsewhere, maybe we can locate the manufacturer and ask for a schematics

Here are a couple of pictures from behind the mask on my bike. 2010 FE 570. Street legal Euro type. Look anything similar to yours?

There are quite a few wires coming down from the instrument cluster, first wrapped in grey tubing and then splitting off to different connectors.

I can dig a bit deeper if it would be of benefit to anyone. Let me know what you'd like to see or know.

edit - damn it, the pictures are rotated ... sorry about that.
