2010 plastics

I did have that thought but my originals are still in pretty good condition and i figured it would be better to keep them that way in case i ever wanted to refit them or ( shudder at the thought) sell the bike! Plus, i dont care what people say about how good paint for plastic is these days, it almost always looks **** or peels off eventually! This is only my experience, im sure yours would prove me wrong!

Ha ha! Well i rang the dealer last week when i got back from work hoping my plastics would be waiting for me to pick them up. Was told they havent arrived yet and are still on " back order" with no outlook as to how long they may take to get here! On the plus side they told me they will call me as soon as they arrive, yay! Quite a different story to the fella telling me they should only take a few weeks when he took my deposit for them!

If you do strike out on the black plastics, take a look at the genuine 3M black carbon fibre wrap on eBay. It's fuel resistant and with a hot air gun wraps around just about any shape. Also plenty of carbon wrap places around that will charge a bit more but do a professional job. When you're sick of the black or do something silly like sell, you can use the hot air gun to remove it without mess or damage. This May sound a bit weird but for around $40 it's certainly a cheap option to try and has worked for me on several other bikes.

Cheers for the idea FredE, i have seen a few pics of older berg motards with the carbon fibre look plastics and they look pretty cool. I didnt realise you could remove it that easily. Im away at work again now so i will hold out for a while longer and see if the dealer pulls through for me before im home again.

Well guys my dealer called me the other day with the good news that my plastics had arrived. Woohoo! Now i just have to wait until i get home from work so i can pick them up, gunna be a long five weeks, ha ha!

Just thought people might be interested to know they are still available.

I have a used set that came with my second FE450. I'm not keen on them and swapped back to the stock blue/white.

My black set has some wear and tear on it but no cracks or broken pieces. Any interest in it? I'm in california so shipping will still be a little tricky.

I sent you a PM

So i finally got a chance to go and pick up my new plastics the other day. Fitted them today, they look pretty good! Trying to decide whether to put the graphics on them or just leave them plain black like the original plan. Maybe i will just get them dirty instead, ha ha!

I did have to trim the rear guard a bit ( underneath) to make it fit but this was only because i have the 70deg tank fitted and its a little bulkier under there than the original subframe. Also i had to drill a hole in the front guard for the headlight support thingy but it does have a dimple to show you where to drill. By the way, guard is Australian for fender.

Also it was quite amusing to see the size of the box they came in, HUGE! Im guessing it's to help them not get bent out of shape during storage and shipping.
