Just bought my 2010 FE450 and was wondering if i can run some Motul 5100 10w40 4T Technosynthese oil. I have a jug of it laying around that i used for my MX bikes. I know the specs say I should run 10w50 synthetic, is there a big difference between the two.

These which oil is best threads are funny. I use 10w40 diesel engine oil, as others do, with success. Others use the top of the line synthetic in differing grades.
It amounts to personal preference, if you plan to extend your service interval synthetic is good, if you are pedantic about short oil changes then mineral at a lower per liter cost can work too.
If 10w40 synth was on hand I'd use it.
