I’m in the middle of putting new fork springs on my buddies berg. The springs I ordered are 43mm x 505mm which from what I can tell matches the service manual for the FE models (open cartridge forks). The weird part is the springs that were in his forks measure 43mm x 485mm, which seems like these are FX springs. These are definitely are not FX forks so something seems wrong to me.
Is it possible someone tried to lower the bike with shorter fork springs? And where do I go from here?
