Was riding evrything was running great. Climbed a hill and shut bike down at the top. When I went to start back up starter didnt engage. in fact nothing happened when pressing start button. Decided to then jump start it on my way down the hill. Bike started on 2 seperate occasions but instantly died again. the only visible problem I was able to see while inspecting on the trail was a bit of engine oil in the airbox. Any help on where to start looking for problems greatly appreciated.

Have had similar with different reasons. First time was combo start kill switch had dust/dirt and moisture inside that would stop bike randomly (shorting kill switch) take it apart and spray with contact cleaner to wash out. Other thing was spark plug cap with moisture inside this also needs to be clean and dry.The over flow tube from radiator needs to be extended down past the spark plug to stop it adding to the moisture problem.

if you have the original pug cap it could be the candidate as the guy above says

next on the list is loose battery leads

then next comes the starter solenoid (starter relay): this gives a clicking sound under the seat.

also, try a new plug - never hurts

is the air filter blocked up?

did it pop and bang a bit before packing up?

regards

Taffy
