09 FE450 - $9498 retail
09 FE570 - $10298 retail

It appears that the increasing value of the Euro is now starting to take its toll.

Man,

That's $6.6666666666666666666666666666667 per CC more for the 570! Guess I'll have to get that one!!

KTM's pricing jumped for '09 as well. I figured there was a good possibility of five figures, so no big surprise there. Got to pay to play.

RE: Re: 2009 US Pricing

Robbie Jenks gave me those US prices today.

CDN is $9998 for the 450 and $10298 for the 570.

RE: Re: 2009 US Pricing

Bruce, I wish that they were $10998 CDN for the 450 and $11498 for the 570, but street legal.

I think that they will still sell everyone that they bring in for that price. I have 6 09s already pre-sold and could have at least 15-20 pre-sold before they even arrive here if they were street legal in Ontario.

RE: Re: 2009 US Pricing

Hi guys,

I am sorry about that fact, but the economy is really F%#@K our lives the last years globally. At least in my country Greece, this is how the things are:
iWith todays currency this is the prices for the 2008 Husabergs in Greece, converted to dollars:
FE 450E 14650$ or 9300 euro
FE 650 E 15000$ or 9560 euro
FS 650 E 16300$ or 10350 euro

I really dont like to say that my very small country has the same market with bigger countries from Europe or USA!!!
But I wish to have there the same prices with USA market, specially for the 09 Bergs. From the price I show for USA market might the price here get up to 10000 euros for the new FE.Scary?

Regards sotosberg

The Australian economy is flying thank goodness. The 09 Berg will be cheaper to buy than when I bought the 2005 Model 550.

Those prices are absurd.Good to luck to the dealers on sales of new Bergs.
I paid 6800 for my '08 FE450.Do you really think these are worth $3000.00 more less then a year later?
How many folks have 10k to drop on a dirt bike? Back to the exclusive club for Berg I guess if those are indeed the correct MSRPs.
Sorry but that's just a sad turn of events.

The Euro vs the US $ is the problem. I have heard that KTM is actually losing money on every 08 Berg they bring into NA this year.

KTMs 09 pricing has gone up $750 - $1000 across the board for 09. An 09 450XCR is $9000 US next year.

lots of interest creates the high dollar ... the smart person sits back and waits , eventually the prices will drop and they will sort out the issues that will no doubt arise

You really need to check the prices on all the other European make motorcycles before you freak out. The 2009 Husaberg prices are right in line with the others. The dollar sucks against the Euro. It doesn't really have to do with exclusivity.

The good news is that the high '09 prices may help hold up the used bike market, which is currently pretty sad for all makes and models.

Edit: When the '09 Husaberg was unveiled, I saw lots of comments about how no one would buy '08 models because the '09s were going to be so different. Now, the whining is beginning about the '09 Husaberg being too expensive. I saw that coming.

KTM, just recently, had to have a mid-year price increase on their 2008 motorcycles. When's the last time that happened?

I mean, if you didn't see the big bump in pricing coming, where have you been? The motorcycle industry, especially the European industry, is not Walmart. They won't be rolling back the prices.

The prices are what they are. TM and Sherco have basically dropped the USA market due to price. GasGas models have increased prices and KTM did a mid year adjustment and has shown their hand for 2009. Beta will likely see a similar increase. We can only wait and see what Husqvarna has up their sleeve, but unless they outsource ALOT to the orient, their prices will have to ride as well. The Yen is running closer to the USD, so the Japanese bike should not skyrocket in cost, unless they feel that the EFI cost justifies an increase in price. Between the price of the new bikes and the cost of fuel, being a racer is getting expensive! Sadly, the way the economy is getting, the only guys buying bikes are the 40 to 50 YO dudes, and that makes it hard to justify for a manufacturuer to make hard core race bikes when most of the buyers are no longer racers (or never have raced).

Hmmm well I was quoted here in Perth Australia AUD$13,400 + on road for my new '09 570 last week

given the AU$1 = US$0.96 at the moment that means you guys in the US of A are still getting damn cheap bikes

sooooo stop whinging...................

I will have to go into my files and check but i am pretty confident that the Berg prices from 1999, when I first got into bergs, was retail around $10,000.We have seen our $CDN do very well in the last 36 months and I am not upset with these retails.I do hope that I can get them blue plated.I will be disappointed if Husaberg do not at least supply the part #"s to do the conversions.

The conversions are a thing of the past in Ontario. I was able to street plate my Berg by just walking into the Ministry Of Transportation and asking for a street plate and keeping my mouth shut, but a lot people are not comfortable with that route.

I remember my buddy bought a 98 400 Elduro for the ISDE and it was over $10K back then.

The street legal bergs sold in 98 here in the US were about $10K as well.
