Its a Husaberg motor. Second generation made from 2001-2008.
The 88-2000 Husaberg motor received a life extension as the 2000-2007 KTM RFS motor was the same design motor with continued development. Some parts can interchange.
KTM loved the motor so much they purchased the company.
actually, in 2012 when HBG was little more than a rebadge with a different suspension set up and white plastics. Still have my fingers crossed that Husqvarna doesn't suffer the same fate in perpetuity. Yeah, I know the cross-over made some fiscal sense upon acquistion, however, I feel they will need to distinguish their product from the Katoom in order to survive and thrive.
