2006 Dirt Rider Magazine 24hr Torture Test

Congrats to Brett and the entire team. I think BOSS having one of the fastest lap times speaks volumes. What a difference a few years, BMG and a committed crew makes (not to mention the Husaberg/KTM factory itself :) ). I hope you post some of your killer action shots as my computer at work needs a new backround.

Were they allowed to keep the jackets , or was that just for the photos?

I must say it took awhile but I like the "06" colours, but I am riding the "05" colours for now. Just for interest, could you identify the people in the photograph..... and, about those jackets, could I get one in a tall size from my local dealer?

Riders (in the order they rode):
Rick Bozarth
Leo Burgos
Brian Cornelius
Dan Watt
Lee Fryberger
Bill Keefer

Re: Jackets: NSMan is your nearest local dealer, he can order one for you.

Cheers,

Brett Saunders

poor mr watt!

"but can't we take a little preload off?"

"no, now go away you little sprat"

but, not even a li..."

"no, now just go away..."

well done one and all. reliable once is good and possibly lucky. being reliable twice is no coincidence!

regards

Taffy

Taffy,

If you are thinking Dan Watt id the short one (4th from left) you are mistaken. The wee one in the middle is actually the Rick Bozarth..BOSS.

Dan is the tall one on the left with the red hat and Fryguy is second from right with the black hat.

I smell a rat. (in general terms no one special other then the jap manufatcuters and DR) Bring what you brung was the theme?

Look at cyclewriter's pictures.

24hour pciture set

I see a Kawasaki out there. Don't ya see last years 24 hour dirt rider was an embarassment to the JAP manufacturers. they only have two off road bikes - 450x and the WRF. against 6 euro bikes. NOW this 24 hr mag article will be all about MODIFIED Jap MX bikes. The specialness of this event is gone for me. It's gonna a be just another jap bike shootout article. The industry Fix is in. Its all about big production MX bikes and ther race teams and THE HUGE aftermarket industry soaking us to modify those MX bikes for off road

look at this what is this RMZ with like $2000 in after market gizmos? is that what was out there this year? DIRT RIDER advertizements now for MX bikes and after market stuff will fit this new scenario perfectly. was TM there? Sherco? gasg gas will they get any recognition angainst Johhny CRF or Billy RMZ team? doubt it.

oh yeah like I want to buy and build this red sticker modified KICK start bike

am I wrong? if I'm right then SMART move bringing the Fe550e not the 450 Brett! at least the 550 will stand out next to these modified gncc MX bikes

mmm... The Honda also appears to be a 450R rather than an X. There's also a shot or two of an XR400, so all of those pics can't be of tested bikes, can they?

Hey guys, congratulations on another great showing at the 24hr! As for the modified jap mx'rs. Do not feel cheated! The fact that the teams running the jap bikes felt they needed to modify there machines to be competitive is a great testament to how good the euro bikes are out of the box! Ask your self; is a $7000 bike with $2000 worth of mods a good deal? Me, I'll take the $7000 bike and $200 in rad guards and skid plates! Spend the $1800 going riding. :D

Sweet.....quit holding back. Will you put a link to a gallery up?

I have always thought of Watt as more of a mountain lion...I'm not sure I want to know how you came up with Kitty Kat :D

Did I mention that we had a chef ? Mark Hosack from Heathman Lodge in Vancouver WA donated his expertise for the weekend. DR Publisher Sean Finley in the background got his fill, as did associate editor Derek Steahley and our team mate Bill Keefer.

At a 24hr test, there is a lot of standing around talking - here's Ted Morrissy, LeeFryberger, and Guy Perret.

Gentlemen,

Making such an event without incident is indeed commendable.
Congratulations regarding a job well done.

Sincerely,
Dale
