Ive finally got of my butt muscle and did the final things to complete a rebuild by adding all the vital fluids. My question is after adding the 1 liter of oil and running the engine i noticed the level in the sight glass is not showing oil.The book says it should be visable,i dont have any oil leaks. So is this normal and ive never paid any attention or do i need to add until the sight glass shows oil????thanks..............Paul

1 litre is plenty on an oil change, in fact I prefer 1 quart. If the motor was bone dry it may take a little more than a litre. Sitting on the stand, you should be able to see oil in the sight glass.

...on the wheels I'd expect to see the oil Ken?

what if this guy has got the rear wheel dragging the workshop and the front wheel a danglin'?

1 litre as Ken says is enough, another 100cc and the goblins are drinking it!

regards

Taffy

David,Ken thanks for that yes it was bone dry yes it was on the ground so i ll add a bit more in 100 ml incraments so i can see it at the bottom of the glass.....Paul
