2004-2006 650 engine differences?

JBS not doing the '700' kit now!:( No idea what piston/liner spec I need, studs, head gasket?
Can't find any other kits out there even on the standard liner! Bugger!:(

A "kit"! What's a "kit"? Oh, you mean when you lay all the parts you have manufactured together in a carton box? :p

you can organise a "UHE peoples kit" for about half the price JBS used to sell the "700 kits" for

JE or CP piston, iron liner, ARP headstuds, composite or copper head gasket and if we are lucky a special Dr_C racing carton box made form recycled aluminum pillow stuffing,

we could have a separate thread listing the different options canolman.. my 105mm piston is cracked and on the way out so its time for sure.

I have the liner modeled and there are a few places willing to make them so we just need a few numbers for the piston ?

Many thanks,
Next question; 644 v 628, which is the better motor power and torque-wise? Is the 628 a little more revvy?
I have a spare 04 engine and have run it in my 07 and I couldnt pick much difference maybe a bit more grunt ??? torque it was a 600km ride and it started to get noisy so I shut it down a bit, loose primary drive nut I think.

Without machining the cases, I didn't dare to go for larger bore than 104mm. I had JE make me 2 pistons for that. Now I "just" need to get the piston clearance right...

Hi, does anyone knows the dish volume of the elko 650 piston? The dish volume from the 570 piston is -10.5 cm. I was wondering iifthe 570 piston could raise the cr a little bit...

Hi, this is the main problem of the '04 crankcases. This happend to me, the mechanic said this happens because the clearance isn't right and the bearing tend to move under load. I was wondering what if we could add a screw to lock the main bearing from moving. This problem is fixed with the '05-'08 crancases.

not sure if this is posted in the right thread Johny ?

i tried locking the bearings mechanically like the factory did with a countersunk screw tapped into the cases on the RHS and with a bracket on the LHS its not really a solution as the crank eventually pulls the bearings inward more than 1mm with great force

if you made a circular steel retaining ring like Hondas use and modified the crank and cases to allow some room for it then you might have success
